Now, an issue with the insulator in the kanger sub ohm tank melting appears to be occuring. Here is a video you guys can check out to see for yourselves:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRNT8kjDRvQ

Reading halfway down the comment section of that video, Kanger have responded to the video. They just state thanks for letting us know and we'll figure it out, but I like that.

I've messed with the rta portion of the tank a little bit and had no issues yet - but I'll be keeping a close eye on the insulator from now on.

Thanks for posting it up supermarket.

I have had very little issues with Kanger products other than wicks drying to quickly. Aspire on the other hand was nothing but problems from the first day I ever tried one of their products which got worse with each one. I had thought however the insulating material has been switched and only caused problem when people would dry burn without pulsing.
Yep. Zero problems with Evods, Protanks or EMOW's with me. Well, none that can't be traced back to my own stupidity that is.
Aspire on the other hand, nothing but garbage and I've tried 3 different tank systems, BDC and BVC coils, both authentic and clone and nothing works.

It boggles my mind people keep giving those companies money. Every kanger product I ever owned from protank 1 to aerotank was pure garbage

hey, i actually loved the aerotank mini. used an ego/aerotank mini for over a year. then used my aerotank mini on my dna30 mod for a bit before i got into RDA's. Never had any issues with the aerotanks.

As most of you know, the Aspire Atlantis tank is having an issue with the ceramic wick material, that appears to flake off, and can possibly irritate the throat (and perhaps do much more damage).

Hey op, thanks for posting this -- really interesting. A few notes:

1. He's using Pluid. This is not a normal eliquid -- this will literally eat through o-rings and plastics normal tank crackers are fine in. He even says he knows delrin will get eroded by this stuff, just not as fast. He's right that peek would last longer, but I'm not sure many expect their tanks to have peek insulators, and this stuff will dissolve delrin drip tips.

2. He's saying Kanger is using a silicone gel, but it's obviously not a silicone gel. It's a hard plastic used in many RDAs and such as an insulator in a state of being dissolved.

3. He's aware his insulator is being melted, yet still using it? And just scraping the residue off once a day? For the most part as this residue gets heated it'll be the equivalent of minute amounts of burning plastic (I think) which isn't a good thing. This is entirely unwise.

4. Fiberglass particulates inherent in a wick, and an insulator degrading due to Pluid, aren't equivalents in terms of safety.

5. There's no reason why the insulator shouldn't be delrin at it's price point.

It'll be interesting to see if people see this with other caustic eliquids (but not pluid level) -- if so, something is up with the plastic they're using. If not, Kanger just chose a cheaper insulator and pluid has added another head to it's wall.

The Atlantis is the single best clearo I have ever owned. I have it on the CF SUB battery.... love it to pieces!

Two weeks and going on a single coil. Great vapor and flavor on par with my kayfun. I havent got the subtank yet, but I am excited to try it.

kanger and aspire dropped the ball? Ummmm no I believe they just revolutionized the clearomizer... I cant wait to see the atlantis 2 and the subtank 2.

I actually just grabbed a new MT3s yesterday after this post and comparing the atty head to an older one both insulators are different material. I think the guy in this video somehow got one of the older ones in which the head used the same material insulators but I'm not sure why a tank as new as that one would have the older materials. At least Kanger commented on it, and on YouTube even. Aspires still dragging themselves through the trenches with their denial.

Hardly a fair portrayal of events JayWer. Aspire has responded several times to the perceived wicking material issue. Just because you don't agree with their answers doesn't mean they haven't been responding to the issue. They clearly have. Of course, you are entirely welcome to your opinions on the matter no problem there. But when you say "at least Kanger responeded to the issue" implies Aspire has not. Just not the case at all.

What's wrong with the Atlantis tank? I use it every day, it's awesome.

I'll point you to the thread below which you can read through over a week and make up your own mind. The TLDR is that they are using fiberglass/ceramic paper in their wicking material -- it's explained in the thread why this is known to be unsafe -- and then gave their customers the runaround about it until finally saying "Oh, well we use it. But we'll switch to all-cotton." They haven't given an ETA yet.

Truth. :) People can read about the *other* things they did in the thread mentioned above if they're inclined.

I have the Nautilus, Nautilus mini and Atlantis.
The Nautilus I use every day and its a bit of a ........ not bad but still can be really flakey. The mini is really good by comparison. The Atlantis just amazes me!
No problems at all with flaking or anything... in fact after a couple of weeks of vaping on the same coil the coil actually looks like I just put it in.
