I just bought 18mg Unflavored e-liquid Nicotine 50/50 pg/vg premade mix i bought some flavors as well cherry soda and dr.cola im tring to make a 10ml bottle of ejuice and im having a hard time getting the flavor to come out. how many mls of the flavor should i use for a 10 ml bottle any suggestions would be real helpful i tried 8mls of the premade unflavored e-liquid nicotine 50/50 base and 2 mls of flavor but i couldn't taste anything please help

I usually recommend people start with 5 or 10% and then move up from there,,,,,,

over the months I've been doing it myself, I know I like 14% flavor,,,,,,,

so if you know you like extra flavor, start with 10 or 12% and go up from there.

Do you have an E-juice calculator????????

I agree with the 5-10% rule to start out with.

Also, it may be as simple as giving it time. eLiquid has to sit for a while before the flavors fully develop. I've heard some let theirs sit for upwards of 3 weeks.

I've never been able to wait that long.

I have one but with the non flavored base I can never get a good calculation

What I tried was 8 ml of the pre mixed base and 2 ml or the flavor but it didn't taste good at all I couldn't even taste the flavor

I would let it steep a little and give it another try at that ratio. One way to speed up the steeping process is to seal up the bottle, get some hot water and let the bottle soak in there for a while giving it a shake every couple minutes. Make sure to leave the top off the bottle as much as possible after this to help with steeping.

Thanks for all the info just made another 10 ml bottle using 8 of the premix and 2 of the dr.cola flavor gonna let it sit for a day or so with the cap off and then try it out ill keep you posted thanks again for the advice

Good luck with this! My experience has been to use a really strong flavour like blackcurrant to start with. When you get that right you then have a good idea of proportions to use with something softer. But I'm almost certainly wrong - my blackcurrant mix just works (99% VG).

If you are using 18mg nic base and adding in 20% flavoring (8ml / 2ml as you posted) you are also reducing your nic by 20% which will have an effect on the throat hit you are used to.
So now that 10ml of juice is 14.4mg or there abouts. That might be a factor in why your juice doesn't taste like you think it should.

Get e-juice me up calculator, it's free and helps a lot with the calculations, and as Retired1 mentioned, the DIY forums are packed full of helpful members and information.

ah, so you don't have any plain VG and PG?????

you probably need that to get a more exact amount.

according to my e-juice me up (I highly recommend it)

If you want 10 mg of single flavor juice at 60/40 (PG/VG), 12mg nic, 12% flavor, you need the following recipe:

Nicotine (18 mg unflavored 50/50 base): 6.67 ml
PG 1.47 ml
VG .67 ml
single flavor 1.2 ml


obviously, if the nic level or flavor percentages are different, the recipe doesn't fit,,,

but most likely, you'll need SOME plain VG and PG to add as needed to make the recipe work.
