You need to fill the cart's inner material until it appears to be soaked through. If it starts to pool at the top you are overfilling it and need to soak away the excess with some paper towel lest you end up with juice in the mouth.

The trick is to get it to soak all the way through, I find if you just drip the juice on the top you will get a false impression of fullness and find yourself refilling in no time at all. If you are using a dropper push it down into the cart itself to squish down the inner material, then start squeezing in the juice in. This tends to compress the juice right down to the very bottom and ensure a good full cart. Does this make sense? haha I hope so.

If you squeeze it out and retain 0.8 ml Kate, wouldn't it be a good guess that the cartridge does indeed hold 1 ml? I think that however hard we squeeze that we'll never get out éverything, the full 100%?

Anyhow, for what it's worth, I do always use 1 ml to fill my carts (of course empty carts; less if they are being re-used without being washed and dried, because then there is still a bit in there from the last time it was filled). I always use a syringe when really filling up a new cart though, and I do believe using that lets you get a bit more in then any other method. I'm just also remembering though: how much goes in also depends on how loose or tight the wool in the cart is... using another brand might indeed make the difference between the 0.8 of Kate and my 1 ml!

Best is to just look while you are filling; as soon as you see the top getting wet, stop putting in more liquid, let it settle; and then perhaps add one or two drops more on top, if that wetness isn't intense yet (but never so much that there is 'loose' liquid on top, then it is indeed too much if you used a syringe - with other methods this access might still soak in given some time, showing the cart wasn't completely full yet).

Before filling a cart with more juice....

I use a straight pin to "fluff up" the cartridge filling material once it starts getting sticky/compressed. Then with my finger, push back down any hairs protruding up above the surface (they can get bad hair days!).

Seems to absorb more juice that way, hold it in better, and generally produces better vapour :thumb:

Posting here. Can't find where to.

As with that demo using a syringe to squeeze out the juice of several cart. fillers at one time? Being smashed, are they still reusable? And how many times can you reuse the cart.?

This washing the filler and drying it? What is the benefit other than if you're going to use a different flavor?

Also, I read somewhere here or a site, when refilling/topping off carts., to blow very gently through mouthpiece to avoid sucking in drops of juice directly into mouth.

Smashing... sounds like you are wanting to put in the whole cart, outside and all? It's just the 'wool' filling that goes into the syringe... (use tweezers to get the wool out of the cart). After squeezing the wool, it's quite easy, after pulling the syringe loose again and getting them out (use a piece of wire, for instance an unfolded paperclip, to help with that if needed), to get them seperate again (and mostly they will be in the right shape again then too; or else easy to get into that right shape again)

Hygiene... using the same cart over and over without any washing, you might find yourself with green or foul smelling liquid in your cart some day... not tasty...
