Hi guys,

I finally decided on getting a provari. It's a bit hard to spend 200$ on a PV but I decided it is a reward for myself for stop smoking. But now I am undecided between the mini and the regular one. I am using LR boges in a 3,7 box mod at the moment and would like to kick up the voltage a little bit. Can someone tell me what their experience is regarding different batteries (18350 vs 18500 vs 18650) and the time/ml you get out of each one?

Many thanks

Get the mini with the extension cap. You can use both size batts! Also go standard resistance Boges. Anywhere from 4.3-5.0v is great.

No reason not to imo. Even with the extender cap, it is smaller than the standard Provari. Win.

Once you get a Provari, you will never want another mod. This is my mod for good.

Get the full size with the 18650 battery..... 2000 mah.......... The mini can be added later as a accessory back up mod....

You can use a 700mah AND an 1100mah (with extender cap) BOTH on the mini.

Personally, I am going through 2 700mah batts in a day at 4.5 volts on my mini right now. I have no issue with that!

My experience is similar. I go through two 18350's a day in my mini at 4.7v. If the next larger battery were double the mah (1400) I would probably go with that and an extension cap so I could make it through the day on one battery. My roommate has the regular provari with the extension and he never kills a battery in a day. I vape a bit heavier than he does though.

I never use to kill a 18650 battery using SR Joyes 2.2 ohms @ 4.7-5.0 volts.... That is until the batteries get older 6 + weeks and now I kill a battery in about 2/3 of a day.............. Yes I use AW 2000 mah IMRs....... I know they say you can recharge them hundreds of times, but really the capacity gets lower the more you recharge them... When I use to run a 14500 mod(Provape1) I used AW IMR 14500 and I would recycle(toss) them after 2 months.. With a 18650 Im hoping to get 3-4 months out of a set? We shall see...........

Thanks for the answers. Just one more question to the black provari users: does the painting come off with usage?

i've found the satin black to be very durable. I have a chrome black that I 'baby'. It's usually always in a carbon-fiber sleeve.

My satin black is my workhorse - i have it with me constantly whether I'm just out and about, riding the tractor, or working in the shop. I just keep it in my pocket w/o any case or sleeve. I've dropped it twice from waist high and both times it's bounced of an aluminum doorway threshold. The 'clanks' were loud enough, I thought for sure it would've done noticable damage to the finish. Nope - 1 bounce left a very very light very small abrasion. The second bounce left a pin point size dot where the SS shows through the black finish. You really have to hold it close to your face to see the imperfections.

Would I like it to be 'mint' - well sure. But I've taken the attitude, it's a PV, use it, enjoy it. I like the way it feels in my hand and looks to my eyes w/o it wearing any protection.

edit added: It's not a painted finish. It's a black ceramic coating.
