If it was burnt, then the voltage was too high for the resistance of the coil or you should try to use less VG juice. 100% VG and evod/protank coil head is no go.

Depends on the viscosity of said 100% VG. Thick n' goopy, no. Mixed with distilled water and liquidy? Yes. Definitely. Personally I'd much rather mix a few drops of water in if I have wicking issues as opposed to removing flavor wicks, which almost always results in flooding unless you're at a sweet spot with your voltage.

I do agree though, Protanks love a nice thin juice. :vapor:

Hey rawr, thanks for the feedback but tried adjusting wattage and voltage with no luck, since removing the flavor wick I've had no more burned hits or leaks. I also realize that not every drop will cause the glass to break, it is glass though and eventually your luck will run out.

You are talking about 100% vg? Good to know that it works good after removing flavor wick.

About protank: Its all in the technique how to drop it. :D

Happy :vapor:

I have not had any troubles with my Protank Mini's as a unit.. They do not leak on me at all save for a few tiny drops of liquid on the battery which is very easy to clean. I've actually taken apart and cleaned my tanks completely down to their individual components. You have to make sure when reassembling that the plastic rings are replaced with no kinks in the rings. Secure tightly but not to tightly or you could break the glass. I think they are super easy to maintain!

I do find with some thicker and darker juices I might have to remove a wick as I get the burnt taste. But other than that! I love these tanks.

My Kanger Mini pro tank 2 will be here today.
This is my first e-cig. How worried will I have to be about leaking fluids? I plan on carrying this around with me everywhere as I begin my analog free journey tomorrow morning so its important that I have it with me at all times.

I suggest keeping it in a little ziplock bag until your sure it is not going to leak all over your pocket.

I use them almost exclusively and have never had a leaking problem with them. With all Kanger heads I always take all but one of the flavor wicks out. I vape mostly 50/50 and its pefect! Even with 100% vg (Boba's Bounty and Gorilla Juice) which I always keep a big Protank 2 filled with at all times! Never a problem!

I was thinking about that but I kept it on its side on my desk most of the day. rolled it around to different positions and removed the battery a few times. Not a drop ...... loving it so far.

I always keep my vape stuff in a man purse. I had it in my pocket once and somehow it ended up getting squished to where the button was pushed down and it was firing. Didn't notice it until I noticed a damp spot on my pants. Pulled it out, let the poor thing cool down and it worked fine, but it scared me into buying a courier bag (did I call it a man purse earlier?) to keep all my stuff safe. As a bonus it can hold my laptop and important papers too!

I wouldn't remove any wicks yet -- even with 100% VG. I have used Velvet Cloud Vapors 100% VG for months...never removed a wick...and never had a leak. I do top off my ProTank when they get a little under half full since I've read that ProTanks can gurgle or leak when when juice is nearing the bottom. I may have a drop or two of juice on my battery but a Q Tip works wonders. Love my 5 ProTanks

So far so good for me. No leaks or any issues (not counting my new obsession with getting more vape toys)
Just ordered my second MPT2 and a few new juices!

I want to find a case, like the old snap shut eye glass cases with some elastice straps inside. Something that will hold it secure and still fit neatly in my uniform cargo pocket.

I think a diabetic supply case at your local pharmacy will be what you're looking for.

I also wanted to comment on your aversion to PG aka Propylene Glycol. You do know that is an ingredient in asthma inhalers and thousands of other products? It's used as a flavorless, sterile compound to hold flavorings and medicines in stasis at room temperature and is a mild germicide. VG (Vegetable Glycerin) has a little taste (musty & slightly sweet), is sticky and thick and some believe that you would be more likely to have an allergy to VG than PG.

I prefer a 70PG/30VG up to 50/50 mixture myself. I don't like the musty flavor of VG but I like the added vapor it gives.

Also, if you like the Protanks, you may like the EVOD heads, too. They are cheaper & lighter but take the same coils as the Protanks. I have 5 filled with different flavors that I swap out all the time. I use my Protank & mini PT2 for my cinnamon heavy flavors but I have run apple-cinnamon & cinna-mint through my original EVOD heads with no problems. I am currently vaping an orange mocha mistake in an EVOD. It was supposed to be coconut mocha but I didn't label my DIY mixes and grabbed the wrong one--duh! I didn't like the orange by itself and somehow the mocha tamed the orange peel tang so it's a nice change & happy mistake.

I leave my heads on my batteries and always remember to turn them off when I put them in the travel case. I didn't at first and had the warm, wet spot issue in my purse but now it smells like apple-cinnamon so it's all good--LOL!

Vape on & remember, Backups for your backups! I have a generic 808 with 4 mini clearomizers (Like Halo G6) ciga-like set that I keep in my pocket for potty breaks at work. It came with a case for the clearos (or carto's), charger, pass-thru, and a PCC (Personal Charging Case).

Thanks for the great advice and info on PG. I am currently awaiting the arrival of my second ptmini2 and some e-juice 70/30 PG/VG! I'll probably stop at Walgreens today and check out the cases you recommended as well! Thank you!
