Yes always save your replacement heads. I have learned how to rebuild my Protank heads and even though I have a ziplock baggy full of them I cringe when I think of all the ones I threw away!

If anything you can always give them to someone who can use them.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned here... are you willing to do builds for her while she gets started up? If that's the case, the kayfuns are going to taste better than any clearo. I don't know her, so I don't know if she'd want to mess with building, but most beginners don't. At the same time, flavor from almost any rebuildable is so much better, she'll probably like the taste more.
