and the officer removes my PV from my mouth throws it on the ground and stomps it before I can even tell him that its a $50 cigarette. Big mess battery is destroyed, the whole thing separated the LED, the switch, and the battery itself are all separate from the casing. My issue is I am leaving on vacation and I need a new one ASAP, who has the fastest shipping that can get me a new Device by Wednesday at noon. looking preferably for a 510. but as long as i have something for my vaca i will be ok.
That really sucks. Considering filing a complaint with that department's Internal Investigations division (different PDs give that kind of division different names). I know this can be hard for a lot of people to believe if they have been on the receiving end of rude (or beyond-rude) treatment by officers -- but there are a lot of PDs that do not
want that kind of behavior from their officers and when it happens, they want to know about it. Someone who is wound a bit too tight -- well, it could be a warning-sign that they need to look into. If there is a legitimate complaint about wanton destruction of property, they should take it seriously. (At least I sure hope they would. I'm not in the law-enforcement biz but am related to someone who is, and I'm going by my recollection of his thoughts about this sort of thing.)
It would be one thing if there were probable cause but from what you've written, it
does sound like harassment.
[And no offense meant, but I should add: if you yourself were being rude or uncooperative in any way, your complaint might not get very far.]
