Coming home from work I heard a doctor speaking about e cigs as an alternative to smoking. I'm a pack a day smoker of Benson & Hedges Menthol, and I'd like to replace the habit. But I don't know where to start and the website I've seen, well, not convinced which way to jump. Any experiences with suppliers in and around Ottawa, Canada that might set me in the right direction?

I started Friday and it has been great since. Such a great alternative. I am already feeling some benefits.
My current setup is a joyetech 510 automatic battery with Kanger 510 Cartomizers. Really easy set-up and in my opinion it is great for beginners. It is a mini so basically it looks just like a regular cigarette!
I don't know what the rules on giving you links in posts are but there is a really great guy in Victoria. I go to the store front but he does most of his business online. Great staff who will answer any of your questions. They helped me a-lot.

Hey Kerry, welcome to ECF. Yes, there is a lot of information out there. Maybe even a little too much, especially for new vapers. You've come to a good place to help narrow down your choices for your first setup. You'll get differing opinions, but don't let that discourage you. I look back at my first set up now and think "Wow, that was crappy" but you know what? It's part of what got me where I am today. Hang in there. In no time you'll figure out what you like.
Interesting, I hope all goes well, but I chose the CEV 510/Kanger Starter Kit from the link earlier, interestingly I had to use a e-interac transfer to pay. I can't wait to try it out.
Welcome and good luck!! Keep in mind it is not like smoking... it will feel different and at times even strange. I very much recommend joining a local vaping group so you can be around others and able to ask questions and try out new things in person.
