So, I need help...and I'm getting desperate.

i know people have gone over this and over this, but I'm getting so frustrated because everything I'm being instructed to do seems to work great in ECF, but not in my world. I have siblings 3,000 miles away that I'm trying to teach this e-cig stuff to and I feel like a failure. This issue concernes the burnt taste phenomena.

set up: ego batt(or reg 510 batt for my sister), Boge refillable 510 carts(3.2 ohm)

conditions: I've tried dripping filling, condom filling(both ends), tyran spins and watched. I've made sure to fill with 30+ drops. I have waited the instructed 30 minutes or more. All this and still...burnt taste right away. Sure, it goes away after a few minutes of agony, but it frustrates me how I can't seem to get it working correctly right away like everybody else on ECF seems to. Can anyone identify with my situation and give me some pointers?

Does this happen the first time you fill the carto? Or just upon refilling them?

I recommend getting rid of the Boge. I recently ordered a batch of 5 & threw them all out due to the taste...regardless if it was a burned taste or poly-fill taste. Try a rebuildable atomizer. They are easy, plus they taste & perform properly.

And don't give up! This stuff is frustrating & confusing...especially when the the ultimate goal is to get off cigarettes.

Also, you might try a lower ohm rating. The high ohm carts are for more powerful vapes. I've stayed at 2.5 ohms for all my 'izers & get good vapor & long battery life using a similar battery to yours. If you had an ego twist, or another battery that does higher than 3.7V you can use the higher ohms.

I just posted asking if another Boge gate has started. I've used ten boxes of Boge 2.0 cartos the last 4 months... all from one vendor. Last month while ordering something elsewhere, I picked up two boxes and I'm shocked. The new cartos don't take as many drops; takes forever for my usual ADV juice to soak in; the draw is much tighter and, the worst, my juice is nearly flavorless at the same voltage. With a fresh fill they almost sound flooded though I know they can't be. The vendor I got these from has a high turnover I would imagine so I doubt this is a batch left over from Boge gate.

Edit: tip... if you're going to try using them anyway, I've found a few drops of distilled water on the carto helps a bit but only after vaping on it a while. Maybe they're too tightly packed and the juice is not getting fully through the carto? I guess the distilled water would move saturation along? Dunno... my juice is 70/30 and not thick at all to start with.

You should try a rebuildable. I initally thought they'd be difficult to navigate but the opposite is true. I'm a total newb but doubt i'll use ato's & carto's much going forth. the taste & hassles just aren't worth it.

I've read and watch some recent reviews of the Boge carto's and there has been something wrong with them for awhile. PBusardo actually pulled a newer one and an older one apart. It seems the newer Boge carto's are wrapped tighter than they used to do and it is suspected that this has caused this burning taste issue.

I would suggest trying a different brand of carto till Boge gets things corrected.

Boge cartos, for me, are very hit-or-miss. I actually far prefer pre-punched tank cartos and an external tank -- larger capacity for juice means less filling of the carto, it'll automatically refill itself, and as a general rule, I can keep the prepunched cartos going for a week or two where I burn out most standard cartos far too quickly. Besides, you don't have the same complications you get with the Boges, which seem to get screwed up about every five to six months as a bad batch hits the market. :)

If they're being packed too tightly, try taking the top off and jabbing a straightened paperclip or heavy gauge needle around in the filler repeatedly. It might loosen it up enough to be serviceable until you can find a replacement. This is one of the main reasons I went from cartos to dripping and then to the Vivi Novas.

Well,
Early on I was enamored with the graduation from a standard atty (dripping) to cartos. I, also, started out with Top Vapor.

The burnt taste is probably the polyfill in the carto lacking saturation. Have you tried a syringe for filling? You just get a syringe with a blunt tip and slowly carefully fill in between the rolls of polyfill.

Honestly, your sort of like in first grade with cartos. Yeah they're okay because they don't leak and a step up from the tedium of dripping on an atty. Try clearomizers. If you are patient and can handle a little learning curve, Rebuildable Atomizer Systems are the only way to fly IMHO. With cotton wick.

Nothing but flavor never a burnt taste.

The only thing I do cartomizer-wise is to put them on my double-barrel cartomizer device just for novelty's sake.

Good Luck and don't give up!!! You can do it and you will succeed with patience.

The only thing on the setup you're using that would cause a burnt taste is not enough liquid around the wick causing the filler material to burn. Pull an old cartomizer apart. Does it look burnt?

Are you sure your cartomizers are 3.2?

Try the condom method. Fill 1/2 the end cap of a cartomizer with liquid and push the battery end down into the liquid. Wait a bit and top off.

Burnt taste can only mean one thing, the cotton around the coil is not wet enough. Given you are using 3.2 cartos on a 510 or ego, it can't possibly be the voltage is too high.

I suggest that you fill one with your least favorite juice, wait overnight (or at least 2 hours), vape it and if it taste burnt dissect it to see what the problem is. With tweezers you can pull out the filling and unwrap the coil. You should be able to tell if it dry and burnt in the middle. If that's the case they are wrapped too tight and you have defective cartomizers.

Sorry you are having this trouble. It's difficult enough to help people over the phone and a terrible first experience for new vapers.
