To be honest... I would rather use cartomizers. Why did you get atomizers? Aren't the atomizers built into the carto's?

So basically all you think I would need is one ego kit, 1 extra battery, some juice, some carto's, and some juice.

Yes, cartomizers contain built-in atomizers and fillers. They can't be taken apart. You just drip liquid into the filler and vape. A drip tip can be pushed onto the mouth end of the cartomizer and used as a mouthpiece (which I prefer, rather than putting the end of the cartomizer into my mouth).

oh and a case.. haha, im weird ilke that. i like to keep it all nice and lined up. How many cartomizers?

What I do is rotate 15 cartomizers (3 boxes of five), but I vape a lot. I have to refill 12 cartomizers every day (1/2mL each time I refill), but most people go through 2 to 4mL per day. Don't know how much liquid you'll go through a day, but you could start with two boxes. My friend bought 2 boxes (10 cartos) about a month ago, and she only goes through one carto a day and a little bit of the 2nd one at night after work. She works 12 hours a day and can't vape very often, so it depends on how often you're gonna vape. You can get about 40 to 50 drags from one cartomizer, to give you an idea, each drag lasting about 6 to 7 seconds.

If I was new to vaping right now and knew then what I know now, I'd buy everything from litecigusa.net:

Two eGo 900mAh batteries
Three boxes of Boge 510 cartomizers
AC to USB wall adapter
eGo Rapid USB charger
Two drip tips
Liquid

The total without the liquid would be about $87 -- and you'd have batteries that will last 38% longer than the 650mAh batteries that come in a kit (before needing to be recharged). And you could add an atomizer or two, if you think you might want to drip (for about $8 each).

Litecigusa.net ships fast, so you'd get the order probably on Monday or Tuesday, since tomorrow's a holiday. I'm not sure if Shawn (the owner) will be working on Friday.

Keep in mind that these are only my opinions. Everyone here seems to have different opinions, based on what they've tried and ended up liking.

If money's a factor, get the 650mAh kit. Also, compare what comes in the kits at the different sites. The contents from one supplier could be a little different from the contents of another supplier.

So basically, the life of one carto is the equivelant of 1/2 carton of cigarettes. 20 Refills x 5 cigs per Refill.

Well, that sounds about right. I know I've refilled some of the cartos I've used more than 20 times. But I've gone through 80 cartomizers in the first 9 weeks of vaping. I'm on the next 15 cartos that I opened a few days ago. I refilled all of those 80 probably 20 times and sometimes a few more times, sometimes a few less. I think I'm buying 3 boxes about every 3 weeks, so that would be 5 cartos per week average or 2½ cartons per week figuring it that way. I only went through a carton of cigarettes every 10 days, but I know I'm vaping much more often than I smoked (hopefully, I'll quit doing that!)

So, yea, I'm spending $7.95 x 3 = $23.85 + $2 shipping (at litecigusa.net) = $25.85 every three weeks

Yes, if you vape (going by the number of drags) as often as you smoke. Most people vape more than they smoked, but juice and cartos are much cheaper in the long run than the cost of cigarettes.

I figure I'm spending about $35 per month for cartomizers and $60 per month for juice, compared to $215 per month for cigarettes (and that was at the prices on 09/14/10).

The $60 per month for juice is buying 120mL bottles at freedomsmokeusa.com. I found my favorite liquid soon after I started vaping, and it's cheaper to buy the bigger bottles at FSUSA. Since I vape 6mL per day x 30 days = 180mL at $40 for 120mL = $60 (except they have 120mL bottle sales now and then when I can get 120mL bottles for $24 or $26 per bottle). I recently bought 480mL for $101 at FSUSA, who has my favorite liquids (RY4, caramel, apple, and nut mix all mixed together).

I want to purchase a Joye eGO stainless steel e-cig starter kit. I also want to purchase a passthrough for when I am on the computer, a carrying case, and throat hit (which increases the throat sensation). I know what flavor I want (vanilla). I just want to know. What parts need to be replaced. How many extra's do you recommend having onhand? How many times can the cartridges in the starter kit be refilled? How many atomizers should I have on hand at a time? And... HOW do I refill cartidges and add that throat hit stuff?

Thanks,
eulogy03

Since I live in the mountains I am stockpiled..as I am often snowed in..
get at least 5 atomizers is my suggestion
and have a look at this passthrough..its great as you can unplug it and use regular
Joye eGo Passthru

That eGo passthru is $21.99 plus $5 shipping, unless your order is over $59.

See, there ya go, eulogy! You can buy a single 900mAh eGo battery for $21.99 at litecigusa.net -- without having to mess around with USB cables! And it's the same price as an eGo passthrough (although, I realize you found it cheaper way up there^^^^).

Also, keep in mind that if you use an atomizer and a drip tip (or a cartridge, which is more hassle), you'll have to drip 3 drops into the atomizer about every 9 drags. Not easy to do when driving. For me, it's a hassle and always having to clean out the atomizer, soak it in isopropyl alcohol, let it dry, etc.

Little plastic, magnetic boxes hold 8 cartomizers each and are at Walmart for $3.88 for 3 boxes in the office supplies area by the little colored labels. Sold to hold paper clips, tacks, etc.

That's a passthrough that used to be connected to a USB extension cable and then an AC extension cable and then plugged into a 2amp AC to USB wall adapter that I bought from madvapes.com for just under $10. I don't miss any of the seven passthroughs I've used (or all the cables)!
