And the thing will NOT stop shorting. The reomizer was loose and the ceramic base was all flippity floppity around. Fixed all that jazz, got the contact lined up flush etc etc, its good to go. The atty reads on the ohm meter, fires on other mods, etc etc.

In the Reo however.. all electrical hell goes straight to your hand. So I'm sitting here wondering.. and while I'm convinced this is causing the short out.. just want to ask.

As you see this part was never painted and seems to be just in the right spot..

is it a full kit you got from Rob? did you put the little gasket and flanged tube in?

the hole where the metal squonk tube go's.. you have to put the flanged tube into the hole first with the ridge or ledge part upwards, use a couple of small screwdrivers to wiggle it in its quite tedius ... once youve got that tube in put the gasket on your metal squonk tube( looks like a tiny waver thin polo)
now insert metal squonk tube..

that bare metal you took pic of wont be the problem, i have that on mine although yours looks prettier :)

apart from that squonk tube and the rm2 pin the only other thing that can make it short is if you have a split on the the soft tubing that go's over the gold firing pin, its there to stop the screw contacting the firing pin ...:)

I fixed up the RM2 nice and snug. Work dandy on mine, just not on his

hmmm yeah just go steady screwing on and off the rba all the time you might wear out the flanged tube if you tighten the rba right up tight...
should be fine but but on mine i tighten the rm2 tight to get a good connection and i leave the rm2 on i dont normally change rba's all the time .... well anyway that tubing that sits around the gold firing pin i was telling you about, mine had a split and shorted, was only a few days after putting a new flange part in but when i took it apart it was already split apart :/

seems i have sharp edges inside the 510 connection or on the reo below it that is shredding my tubing... great

im gonna havta go buy a round tapered file now before i install new

Ha hahahahahahaha

the short is somewhere in the 510 connection, or the firing pin. Take the rm2 off and check for conductivity between the center pin (pos) and the mod (neg). Also check that the insulation around the firing pin covers it enough to protect it from the long screw for the plastic plate.

Don't listen to this guy. He knows what he's talking about.

Thanks Rob, back it out a tad more and that was the biz. Thought I had it out far enough, because it was sunnnnnk in when I got it from him.

He will be a happy new Reonaunt!

The center post on the atomizer is not sticking out enough . What is happening is the negative on the atomizer is making contact with the center post in the mod . You need to back off on the center post in the atomizer .
