And I got this off the wiki: E-Cigarettes: The New Frontier In War On Smoking : NPR
Basically saying the FDA is expecting evidence from the manufacturers to prove that it is an effective stop smoking tool, in order to market it and/or approve it. Here's the funny thing, they only found ONE chemical in it that they know to be "harmful". Diethyline Glycol? 4000 are in cigarettes. The FDA has even tested these babies out. Did they just not do an extensive enough research? I know those things take time but why not release updates to the public if indeed they are still researching as to exactly what is in them?
I just realized that they are banned in Canada, which totally bums me out cause my Mom lives there and I was excited about sharing the experience with her. I wouldn't want to get caught smuggling them in though, or anything like that
This is a huge thing because think about it: This is still up in the air in the U.S. It would be easy for them to put a ban on Ecigs. The articles I have read talk like that is right around the corner, despite them being a safer alternative. Why isn't the manufacturer gathering data on the consumer's response and cessation, and if they are why is it not out there?
I'm peeved.
