I got some great info in my other thread I started. But I took a look at those suggested and I have to say if I had to pick one I would go with the joye 510. But I have a $200 to spend I want to do it right the first time, my wife hated the cheap one I bought today as well and gripped that the volume of smoke was not there. So with my budget in mind I want to find two nice ones and supplies to get me through a month or two. Can someone lay out a few options for me? I have spent my day looking on the net and I feel more lost now than before. I want to be able to refill my carts so I can save a few bones here and there.

I want to place my order tonight so I hope I can get one picked out!

You don't say how much each of you smokes, but if it's more than 1/2 pack a day you'll probably get frustrated charging batteries all the time with a basic 510 setup. The KR808 is a little better but a heavy smoker will blow through those batteries quickly too. The 510 has a 180 mah battery, the KR808 is 280 or 320 mah I believe, the basic eGo is 650 mah, and the Riva 750 mah. From my experience around 100 mah = roughly 1 hour of use.

As to the carto's, the only starter kit that comes standard with them is the KR808, the others use atomizers unless you find a "carto special" type of deal. Here's some good vendors you can check out and compare prices. Liberty Flights has by far the best price on a Riva starter kit using their 20% off at the top of the page.

Hey Cody..I know how overwhelming it is to try to narrow it down. There are so many great products to choose from and I am sure that everyone has there opinion of the "best". I know when I started vaping I had to have something that resembled an analog cigarette, but now I have everything from wooden boxes to big (and little) tubes. A great starter kit is the Joye ego. You can shop around and find the whole kit for around $50. If you want my opinion of the best on the market right now take a look at the Provari or any variable voltage personal vapors. Keeping it simple....you can adjust how hot the vapor gets so you can figure out what works best for you.

Man, regardless of what anyone else says, get a Mod. Let go of wanting it to like like a cig, and fast forward to getting a high powered mod that will satisfy ever time. I'm sure there will be a few rebuttals to my reply, but it is the best advice you will get here.

I'm not gonna tell you which mod to get (that's up to you), but I will certainly tell you its all about the vape, not the size or style. I've owned just about every type over the past year, and I will tell you to learn from my experience. Go with performance, period. Good luck.

P.S. I would seriously look into dripping. I guess economically it is the same as refilling carts, but in my opinion, it is a much warmer, richer experience.

KR8 - the standard model KR808D-1 from multiple vendors or the Vapor4Life model - standard batteries are 280mah and I do recommend them rather than Bloog because they offer manual batteries. Bloog has 320mah life and lower voltage and no manual batteries. You can put a DSE901 atty on a KR8 if you have manual batteries and want to drip (dripping not recommended on auto batteries). Or a 510 battery with an adapter. Stnadard KR808D-1 w/ carto is 120mm long.

510 - the standard batteries are 180mah and last 2-3 hours for a light to moderate vaper but 1/2 that for a heavy vaper. They also have mega xl batteries which make it longer and are 280mah - makes it 138mm long with atty+cart, or 128mm long with a standard cartomizer, the way I use it. I prefer the mega xl ones.

You can't really do better than those two if you want slimmish and cylindrical. Both are a bit thicker than a cig (about 1mm thicker)

If both of you are willing to go fatter than slimmish, look at Ego and Riva 510 which are fat battery 510s with more than 2x the charge of the 510 mega xl batteries and the ability to use hotter harder hitting low resistance carts and cartomizers.

I think you will get sick of carts pretty fast - most people do. Some go to dripping most of the time and cartomizers when out. Some go to cartomizers all the time. Some with Ego/Riva go to Ego tank atomizer and tanks.

With battery+atomizer+cart - the cart can be refilled/washed/restuffed and be used a long time. the atomizer is what can burn out or get weak - that the part you may need to clean and not abuse.

With battery+cartomizer, you get a fresh disposable atomizer and cart in one piece. if you fill it well the first time and then keep it damp, you may get 4-7 days use out of one. Some are successful at cleaning/drying/reusing them after that and some are not. They cost about $2 apiece for 510 blanks, a bit more for KR808D-1 prefilled ones. prefilled or not, you will be adding juice, probably even on the day you start using a prefileld one.

I started with the Joye eGo, and would highly recommend it. You can get a starter kit (with 2 complete e-cigs) at liberty flights for around $40 (be sure to click the 20% off link at the top left of the website and look for the Joye eGo 510 Special ECF offer). I would start with that, and buy lots of juice from many different suppliers (you'll find yourself spending quite a bit trying to find juices you really like). With your budget, you can get 2 starter kits from liberty flights and plenty of juice. Some good juice vendors are Backwoods Brew, Juicy Vapor, madvapes, Alien Visions, and there are tons more!

The Joye Ego is a good way to start with your budget add some cartomizers, juice and you are ready to go.

If the one you got for your wife has a 510 thread as the Ego you can also use the same cartos and may have better luck with different juice and cartomizer. You can also try a lower ohm carto for more hit and smoke. However with a small battery you should stay above 2.4 ohms.

Dripping is when you buy just the atomizer, and purchase a drip tip separately(you can get them to fit any style atty). Then you drip the juice directly on to the bridge of the atomizer. Some prefer it, some don't. I have tried every method, and it is my fav by far. Google drip tips. There are many designs, colors, etc. If you wanna go for design and color, go for twisted tips from Nhaler.com. If you want to got for functionality, look at the wide mouth tips from Super T. I hope this helps. If you got any questions, feel free to IM me.

I don't have a rebuttal, it might be the way to go. But it might be worth it to get an ego for $30 to see if you even like vaping before you start to research mods. Even if you eventually end up with a mod you can use the parts or keep it for a spare.

I might eventually get a mod. I don't regret buying an ego because it got me into the whole 'vaping world' and found out that vaping is for me. Now I can take my time and research the different types of mods. (Or save up for an expensive one!).

There's a wide variety at Freedomsmokes USA
Great tobacco flavors at Backwoods Brew (they need to be steeped though)
Lots of good juices at Vapor Bomb (also need to be steeped)
My all day vape is nuport at nhaler. Love it! If you like menthol.

Get sample sizes in a variety of nicotine levels and pg/vg ratios. My personal fav is 24 mg nic and 70PG/30VG. They may be a little strong for you depending on your smoking habits.

I just ordered two joye ego starter kits from liberty flights and now I off to find some liquid to put in them.

Excellent choice!

I agree with sweedishfish on getting juices in various nic levels until you find the one that suits you best. Same with flavors.
