Yo I'm completely new to this. We just had our 1st bby and wife was cinstantly on me about smoking. I bought a sigeli zmax v3 telescoping unit and the dude at the shop gave me a kanger protank 2 to replace the stock unit. It leaks sometime harldy ver hits right when it does it is super harsh and I am constantly sucking up little hits of ejuice when it makes a popping or sizzling sound. I have no idea what I'm doing.what voltage to use anything. The pack of Russian drinas only requires a lighter. Anyone help me out before I chuck this thing out?

I don't think the wick is dry I have only had it for 24 hours and it has been full the whole time. It changes in .5 incriments I have it on 7 but have tried it on 3 and all the way up to 11. Same thing happens. Sometimes I hold the button down and it makes no sound at all and I get little to no smoke at all just that terrible ejuice on my tongue

Protanks usually come in 2.2 or 1.8 ohms. The voltage you run is important because if you run too high it will give you that burnt taste. And if you burn the wick badly it won't go away until you clean or replace the coil. Typically, for Protanks with that ohm range you want to stay between 3.4-3.8 volts. Even with the right voltage, if you hit it too hard too often you can run the wick dry and get burnt taste that way. Check out some vids on you tube on cleaning your rig. It's really worth it to learn a bit about your equipment to get the most out of it.

Welcome to ECF and the vaping hobby!

You actually got really good equipment, but there IS a bit more to it, to get it to work properly.
Sounds like your coil is loose in the ProTank, or there's juice in the air tube, or something - but you might kinda have to "start over"...
It might be best if you could get the dude at the shop to spend 10 minutes showing you how to fill and use it - any chance of that?

The voltage you want depends a little on the COIL - which is IN the ProTank (and you probably need a new one already - from heating it up without juice, or from hitting it with high voltage!). The coil is disposable - about $1.25 each, and they'll last a week or a month depending on if you got lucky, if you clean it, and what kind of juice you use. The coil is rated usually somewhere between 1.8 ohms and 2.5 ohms. That's ONE reason it's good to have variable voltage - to adjust for your particular coil. The other reasons are to adjust for your particular juice, and for your particular preference.

In general, you'll probably want to start at maybe 3.5 volts, then turn it up, and up a little more, until you think it's too high (any burnt taste is definitely too high) then go back one. That simple. MOST likely, you'll be in the 3.7 to 4.4 range...

So - the trouble is with your ProTank.
#1) Start with a new coil. Hopefully you have extras? Screw it in nice and tight.

#2) Refill the ProTank -
a) DO NOT get any juice down the middle tube!
b) Actually watch a couple YouTube videos on "how to refill a ProTank" first

#3) Start at maybe 3.6 volts or so, and work your way up...

You have a great battery and a great topper, thought the PT2 is better than PT1. Here's some info on the Protank:

A PBusardo Review - The Kanger ProTank - YouTube

The Battery you have is one of the very best APV's under $100. Here's some information on that most excellent device:

SIGELEI ZMAX V3 (TELESCOPE) CONFUSION THEN WIN - YouTube

Busardo and Grimm are two of the better vaping reviewers out there. Take some time to watch the YouTube videos on all the devices you use, and save yourself a lot of frustration, learn the tips on maintenance and rebuilding, etc. One of the better ways to learn about this crazy vaping stuff and highly recommended. Please don't chuck out your gear....send it to me! Welcome, congrats, power up and vape on!

You actually got a pretty nice setup to start out with. I agree with the others, definitely watch a few YouTube videos to see how your equipment works.

Beyond that, when you replace your atomizer head make sure its screwed in tight, then fill the tank and get everything put back together. Before you start vaping let it sit for at least 5 min so the wick gets saturated.

One last thing, you don't need to take a really hard draw on a vaporizer like you would on a cigarette. Maybe try drawing like you're smoking a pipe or cigar.

Give it some time and try not to get discouraged, you've got a nice setup I'm sure you'll dig it once its running properly.

Just a little advice from a long time smoker and newish vapor. Buy yourself a basic ego kit then work into the kanger. I only use tanks that have the metal heating coils as to me they do not affect the taste.

Nah, his Zmax is much better than a ego battery and the protank does use heating coils, he just needs to do some research first.

I have a couple of these tanks and have just ordered a set of ten more. I only have leaks if the coil is not tightened enough. Every so often I will take the coil out and clean around the seals and inside the tank where the coil sets. Check your coils as they should have two seals. When filling, tilt the tank on an angle and drip the juice down the inside. Better still, use a filling syringe. Then clean the inside of the tank again where the coil sits and refit the coil. As one of the other members said, make sure that no juice gets in the coil tube.
