The true test is getting through PT! Been there, we can exchange pics of our knee scars. Mine was a knee fracture caused by an unfortunate marching band incident (I broke the tuba player's arm too), I had to follow it with an ACL surgery 16 years later. I truely feel your pain and wish you a speedy recovery! May God and percocet be with you!

Thanks for the kind words. Question, what the heck kind of marching band were you in anyway that you all sustained more brutal injuries than the football team ???

Firstly, my condolences and congratulations Tracker - good luck with rehab.

Secondly, I too want to hear more details of mzkitty's little marching band massacree..... Does it start with: "This one time, at band camp...."?????

I played drums and I had the large bass drum, lost my footing, tripped and ended up in the middle of a domino effect of band dorks. I fell into the people on one side, knocking them over and tripped up the people behind me and they all fell into me. I ended up with a guy who weighed about 300lbs, plus his drum on my left knee, a person a few people up from me knocked over the tuba player and his hand kinda got caught in the tuba and fractured his arm. There were a few others who need stitches. It was bad and I still haven't quite lived it down almost 20 years later. I can't listen to the theme from Jurassic Park without cringing to this day.

It was my freshman year, so I got 4 full years crap over it. It was homecoming too... It was kind of a nightmare, but in hindsight, it was really very funny. My mom still loves telling that story and my best friend, who was a sax player, randomly sends me dvd's of Jurassic Park.

I still play drums. As the moment, I am the drummer for my 15 year old son's punk band, you know until they can find someone else :). Mainly I just stick with playing lots of jazz, blues, and classic rock with my husband who is a guitar player.

I've done the rounds as drummer in my two son's "bands" (they are 18 and 15 now), but for some reason, they don't seem to appreciate the drumming styles of Keith Moon and Jon Bonham.

Well you know what they say, "That which doesn't kill us generally just leaves us physically or emotionally scarred for life" or something like that.

I had always hear the quote was: "That which doesn't kill us... raises our insurance premiums" ?

Grats, Tracker! And best wishes for a full and quick recovery!
