The other day I decided to branch out a bit and purchased an Octopus from a local B&M. After a couple of draws I started tasting kinda a burnt plastic aftertaste from the stock 8 wick setup. Realizing I must've burned that wick I decided to try my hand at coil building. After some running around to find supplies and some researching what it was I exactly needed (decided on cotton and 30ga Kanthal). Side note I did actually find some Kanthal wire at a local hobby shop 4ft length of 30 ga .10 diam wire for $3.39 ish from Woodland Scenics. not really cost effective considering Temco has a 25-50ft roll for about the same price. But hey In a pinch it will do.

Back to my proud moment. After some trial and error I managed to build my self a fat coil around 1.9ohms tried and tested not too bad. Then I got a bit crazy and decided that if I can do 1 why not try 2. Even decided to do them micro sized too. Again Trial and error and bam dual coil cotton wicked octopus running .9 ohms and flows like a champ. Some may say "woopee" but hey we all start somewhere right?

welcome to the world of rebuilding where curiosity rules all. May the allure of bigger clouds and better taste on the other side of the fence keep you constantly trying new wick materials and configurations, different wrap and wire types, and different RBAs. On your journey you may even catch a case of the shinys and spend stupid amounts of money on RBAs, mods, and batteries. You may also tear apart perfectly fine builds to see if your next build will be the perfect vape. Once you acquire your god like building skills from hours of reading and constant tinkering you will step over the carto and ego peasants and turn the forecast foggy with your mod, only to disappear in a vapor screen before any questions can be asked. This is your first few inches in the journey of a mile of kanthal, congratulations and good luck. May you always have fully charged spare batteries and a backup atomizer in case that new build you work on last minute before leaving to work doesn't pan out.
