HATS OFF TO DB!!! (drunkenbatman for those who don't know) He stole my cat (unsure as to why at this point) BUT said he would return her if I can successfully build a titanium/nickel clapton coil...hangover ever so imposing I accepted the challenge (I am lost without my cat, still trying to figure out how he knew where I lived...must be a hacker) and reached for a cup of coffee to start in on this very challenging problem...Twenty minutes and two cups of coffee later I have a SUCCESSFUL clapton hybrid to be envious of!!!!!!!!! After safe returnz of my kitty, I am thoroughly enjoying this coil ALOT!!!!! So...few basic tidbits on this build
1. temp settings are wonky as titanium and nickel are different on TC device's-good news, common sense said go half way between both...and it worked!!!
2. you will need more than 4 wraps...that's what I did but it came out to a .08 and barely grazed into being able to function on my poor DNA40
3. making a clapton of titanium and nickel is NOT easy, I feel fair warning should be provided on that topic
4. I now have a better home for my nickel OTHER than the trash can (all due to titanium and drunkenbatman)
5. me and kitty are now happily together again but if ANYONE else touches my cat YOU will regretz it SEVERLY!!!!!!!!

lol when I suggested this, I... yeah, that was ~20min from PM to post. You're ridiculous, and that's pretty badass -- it may be (I think it is) the only one out there. A few notes/questions:

1. Please head over to imgur and upload something full sized ones for some proper coil porn!

2. Those coils don't look spaced! I thought that was supposed to hamper the temp-sensing?

3. What's the specific temp setting you used?

4. You said it wasn't easy -- was that due to the nickel?

5. How's it vape?????

I've returned the cat, but frankly I think it already likes me more. I suggest we set it 20ft away from us, then we each call it by name and see which of us it comes to.

LOL you guys kill me. That is cool, hows it vape with nickel. I got some but have been using my mini subtank on my VS DNA40 or just a Plumeveil with ordinary kanthal although I would like to try a nickel build I just haven't gotten around to it, I tried, got really frustrated and had to stop before I threw something.

P.S, sorry your cat doesn't like you as much as drunkenbatman now...that's a shame:)

Yeah, the nickel was super soft during wrapping it on the outside of the titanium and the temp setting I used was 360 F (halfway between 300 F for titanium setting and 420 F for nickel) and the resistance did come out KINDA lower than I expected so to reach the "desired" .1 or higher at least five turns around a 2.4mm screw driver is needed and TC can work with not spaced coills (not sure I would call a clapton a "micro" coil by design) and the titanium wrapped in the nickel kinda pulls itself apart from itself while wrapping (if that makes any sense)
