just got my provari and OCD tank in today and im in love! here's whats weird though.. the day i bought my provari, i checked my bank account and the charge from provape was in my "pending transactions" with the rest of the crap i had bought in the past couple days.. then today after receiving my package, i get online to check my bank and i have $200 more than i thought i did.. and the transaction from provape is nowhere to be seen..? i was thinking maybe provape waited to charge me until i had signed the paper verifying i received my order.. do they do this? or did something get messed up? because im sitting here with a sweet provari in my hand vaping away, with the money for it still in my bank.. anyone know whatsup?

I would still count that money as spent. Don't spend it obviously. Wait a few more days for the transaction to clear your account. Sometimes in between being pending and posted, some banks will have it "in limbo" where you won't see it.

the weird thing is, with my bank it automatically adds in the pending transactions to my "available balance," so even before the charges go through, it shows my total as if they have. and the total in my account says $230 more than it did the day after i ordered it. it's just gone. i just hope it doesnt end up getting taken out a month later or something.

Don't be counting any financial chickens. If it's a legitimate charge they have a long time to find any error an correct it. You won't be able to argue "but they didn't do it 10 seconds after I ordered!" if you pull the funds out to cover that debit, the charge goes through a week or two from now, and you start bouncing transactions all over the place if you send your account into overdraft mode.

If it was in the pending state it basically just checks the account for funds. A vendor then uploads the info either manually or automatically. It depends how they set up the account. I often have customers who purchase..it gets pre-approved when I swipe or key in. On occasion I will ship out an order but have not uploaded the transactions. In my case it is because I may have only once very small transaction and do not want to pay a high upload fee so I will wait and batch the next morning when I have more. When my son uses my debit card for gas, it always shows pending $1..sometimes it will take up to 4 days for these funds to actually show on the account once they are uploaded(batched out). I hope this helps.

wasn't planning on it for at least a week or so, but my girlfriend literally JUST found out how much i spent on this thing and she's a little ticked. lol she's demanding i take her out to eat and see a movie now. :p
Still learning, huh? ;)

Anything you spend... add 50% for the girlfriend. It's worse when you're married :D

But seriously... When you place an order, there's an authorization placed against your CC, and the merchant has 24-48 hours to push the transaction through, to turn the authorization into a charge. So... if there was any delay in processing that (backorder, no internet access, vacation, goof up, ...) the authorization expires, and the merchant still runs the charge. It's a bad thing to do, because the authorization was the merchant's only assurance that the money was available.

You did the right thing though; it's really not cool to stiff a merchant like that, regardless of the amount.

Congrats on your $300 Provari; where are you taking her out? :D
