So whats the concensus on Temp Control now that we have had it for quite a few months??Has it lived up to the hype? Some said it was a fad,is it here to stay?

I definately think some juices have their sweet spot temp and really come alive but I also think that the promises of less juice and battery consumption were greatly exaggerated, what are your thoughts?

If I have a problem with a tank or a dripper or my genesis giving me dry hits then I make a coil from ni 200 pur nickel wire and

install it into the problem device and it works well----but lately I have been in normal wattage mode on my 60 watt eleaf istick TC Mod.

just use it when it is necessary.......

Works excellent for my wife who does not pay attention to detail. She vapes em dry than hands them to me and says it just quit. No dry hits like she used to when they went dry before TC. For me I like watts with SS316L. Use temperature control some but I am not fussy on it. We have seven TC units in the house in total. CHEERS!

IMO those promises of less juice use and battery consumption were put out there by unscrupulous manufacturers and/or vendors and some people who didn't understand how it works bought into it. The folks at Evolv who developed TC never made these claims that I know of :)

I've found TC works to stop dry/burnt hits when it's set up well. I don't find it gives any other benefit that makes it worth my while to use anything other than Kanthal. It's another vape tool and I think enough people like it so that it's here to stay.

I think TC provides three main benefits...

- It allows a set max temp and holds it there, independent of the length of draw. This is your juice "tailoring".

- It prevents, or severely reduces dry hits/burnt hits. This is a great benefit for many of us. Dripping can be done without constant attention to how much liquid is left, how many more hits before I have to drip again... etc. I've lost attention with a tank as well, once, and there went that coil. It's also saved my lazy ... when I had a poorly wicked, dry hitting RBA (SS) and didn't feel like redoing it... just switched to TC and got very acceptable performance.

- This last is an unsettled issue, but... it allows the use of higher power to achieve that preferred set temp faster... like "bang" faster. Again, length vs. character of pull is altered to produce more consistency of flavor and or vapor production. Some will prefer the slower ramp-up.

Set-up can be tricky, but can be varied in numerous ways to create a personalized TC vape.
But if done to ones preference... it provides all of those benefits.

Extended battery life is, of course... bollocks. :p

I had to come back and reply to this.

It's funny on its' own, but it reminded me that Busardo recently explained how he does like TC, a lot, but it'll still occasionally catch him out.
He'll be vaping along happily when it all stops. Uh oh.
So he thinks "It broke" and he starts in trying to figure what went wrong with his set-up... just as we all would. Then he notices that he vaped his tank dry.
"The TC did it's job. It worked perfectly. D'oh."

Do you think Phil is particularly not detail oriented?

Don't ask me what I think of him. Wife and I met him in a bar at Vapecan in Canada and spoke to him and he just............ Oh Never mind as I am not going to get into it, except to say I was less than impressed with him since. CHEERS!

@suprtrkr ...Are you using the SS in a Crown by chance?

If so, what is the TC setting for the stock .25 Crown coils?...in a RX200.
No, sorry, I build. Here's a good thread regarding the TCRs of available vape wires. This link usually opens up a post or two from the one you need on my machine: TCR codes for vape wire

Would never go back to vw mode. I do not miss the fiddling with watts and endless coil making, I can whack a coil in my tanks, set my temp, and press a button and not worry about even checking the coil or wick for a month at a time.

Consistent vape every time i hit the button - SS (i use 316L) surpasses all other temp control wire materials imho, even people i know who were over temp control have recently revisited it with SS and become (re)converts
