so what do you tell your health care professional about vaping?

I always tell my doctor everything. I pay him to do a good job. He cant do a good job if he isn't informed. People tend to forget that the doctor works for them not the other way around. And when I say "He" i mean that metaphorically.

Exactly. Your doctor works for you, not the reverse. Doctors are people, not gods and are as fallible as anyone else. If they don't condone your pv use you're as free to ignore their advice as you were when they told you to stop smoking.

Indeed they do work for us! I have no problem being completely honest with my Dr. And I have never had a problem firing one who treats me in a dismissive manner. I have lived in this body for a 50 years and know it pretty well and I expect my Dr. to listen when I speak, and learn from me when I can teach :) Drs. are humans, not Gods.

Only the ones that get a kickback for prescribing CHANTIX. I am sure that SOME, see it as us reducing their income by not needing tests, medication, and fewer doctor's visit. These types of doctors would be opposed, and if mine had a problem, I would straight accuse them of wanting me to die from smoking cigarettes. Then I would find a new doctor.

The doctors I go to at the VA will not prescribe CHANTIX due to the high rate of DEATH among it's users, but are VERY pleased I vape instead of smoke, and classify me on documents as a "non-smoker".

FYI: The Dr yesterday actually made the comment that in her opinion Chantix is just a law suit away from being yanked. Her patients have shared their stories of side effects ranging from rashes, vivid dreams to night terrors and anxiety/panic attacks.

Couldn't possibly have seen that coming!

Let's take an extremely powerful pyschotropic drug that causes physical dependency and use it to help people with their addiction!

Sounds brilliant to me! What could possibly go wrong?!

The FDA approving it for that use with the side effects that have been known for more than 20 years is an absolutely appalling failure. The side effects are an acceptable risk for it's original use but not for quitting smoking.
