So what ever happened with the Obsession?

when it was first posted i was hoping for it to be a juicebox. than a 5v juicebox than a juicebox with variable voltage than a variable voltage with feeding system. now i want it to be a power (watts) adjustable with feeding system.

The Obsession is still under development, as there have been a few changes in plans since the concept was first introduced. It is definitely going to be a more advanced device than originally planned. I do not have any ballpark dates though, pretty much just "whenever it's done". I can't talk about any of the extra features that are being planned (*Chinese accent*: it is ancient Chinese secret).

With the new factory purchase, the new products that are coming out now, and the new website that just went up and the other new website that's being developed, it's been a pretty busy time these past few months, so the Obsession development may or may not be temporarily on the back burner, but we're all hoping to see some more progress soon! I know I for one am on the edge of my seat about it...

I don’t want to be that guy that tells little children that there is no Santa, but I’m going to do it anyway. I sincerely doubt that there is really an Obsession, and if one is on the drawing boards it should stay there. The Obsession is all about going to the Eastmall website and looking for new things. On the old website I checked on the availability of the Obsession at least once a week. If I had no other reason to check out the website I could at least do that. Any device that could be constructed will be surpassed by something else at some point, so why incarnate it and rob everyone of their imagination?

If I have this wrong and the Obsession is released I feel that Eastmall will have an obligation to announce another mystery right away. Even put up another blurry photograph (I noticed the obsession photograph on the old website were taken by the same person doing Elvis sightings) to start some fresh anticipation.

Assuredly, there is no conspiracy behind the Obsession, it's not going to be indefinitely on the drawing board, and it's not a hoax/marketing ploy. Why not release information about the plans for it, you ask? Because we don't know when it's going into production, and we don't want those ideas stolen before we can get it out first. Plain and simple. It's not undisclosed to stimulate the imaginations of consumers, it's also not undisclosed to shroud it in a cloud of mystery so that people keep checking the website for updates, it's undisclosed to protect the intellectual property behind it.

No further details about the Obsession will be disclosed until it is already being produced and ready to hit the store, unless someone in a much higher position than myself decides so. I'm not hiding anything by choice, the reason for keeping all the details hidden make perfect business sense, and I'd probably lose my job if I provided any such details to the public.

I'm just guessing here, but the images are probably blurred so that certain things can't be copied by competitors until we are ready to mass market it. The reason for even posting the images at all were simply to show that prototypes have been created, and that it is one step closer to completion.

I also understand the "inquiring minds want to know" mindset you must be having, and you may be wondering why I even bothered to talk about the Obsession at all. All I was doing was answering the question posted by the OP - we have an obligation to respond to questions the best we can, but unfortunately the only response I am allowed to give at this time is that I can't really talk about it lol. Thems the bricks. I really wish I could say "yeah it'll be out on this date, and it's going to have features x, y, and z!", but I can't.

The idea that someone else might come up with the same ideas and get it out faster anyway is a possibility that we have of course considered. It's like that with anything though, and it would be illogical to abandon the device completely because there might be a risk of that happening. It hasn't happened yet, so why give up and let it die on the drawing board? What if we did give it up, and no one ever does make something similar? We could go through "what if's" for days, but the fact of the matter is that no one ever produces results by giving up because of some "what if's".

I didn’t intent my comment as criticism. Neither is this post. It’s just an observation. I just couldn’t be bothered to use 28 smiley faces in every post to point out I’m not in attack mode. (Insert smiley face times 59, plus one rolling, one dancing and one sticking out it’s tongue)

And I didn’t mean pictures posted somewhere showing of every feature of the Obsession. The image used for the permanently “out of stock” Obsession on the old website did have 3 e-cigs or mods on it. It’s not a Freddy Krueger signature. I could only find a very low res image on the web since it is no longer on the website, but you guys could probably find the original if you want to. Not that you need to. I’m just pointing out what I referred to. (Smiley face times 4)

No worries, we weren't in defensive mode either, simply explaining the reasoning behind the decisions not to reveal every detail (insert an entire wall of smiley faces) haha. Hopefully it's a little bit clearer now though. I'm actually glad you posted what you did, because it gave us an opportunity to explain a bit more and answer some questions that others were probably wondering as well.

No! Di you gave away too much with that photo! It would now be a simple matter to measure the width of the mouthpiece and extrapolate the maximum length and width of the entire thing. This totally spoiled it for me.

If its claw marks I had it wrong all along. I should’ve realised that graphical designers are just as lazy as the rest of us, and that is why all three marks look the same.

every time you postpone the release of a new mod something new comes out and that mod features become outdated. a year ago people were ready to die or kill for a carlos juicebox now most dont want it for free. just like Caesar and its Precious. half of the people that were on the waiting list for it had decided to go for a provari or something else.

never give promises of pre -release information,
never give promisary release estimate dates,
and above all,
NEVER - take money up front for an upcoming release,

I am very sure that all those guys had the very best intentions -- just as we did.

HUH? Haven't you built and used VV mods?

Ohm's Law clearly and simply states the relationship between Power, Current, volts and resistance.

Power is the amount of current times the voltage level at a given point measured in wattage or watts.

Every time you tweak the voltage you are also tweaking the current and adjusting the watts. That's what anyone with a VV mod is doing when they tweak the voltage, they are changing/adjusting the Power (watts/heat). It's the watts that influence the vape.

If you control the volts, you control the watts. We build and use VV mods for their watt adjusting ability.

This relationship between Power, Current and volts was described almost 2 centuries ago. It has not changed.

If you can control the Volts you now can control the Current (amps) and the Power (watts) at any given resistance in a way that is totally predictable and consistent.

Change any one and the others will also change.

The various Ohm's Law calculators will do all the math for you.

evolution/darwin concept. i wanna set it to 9 watts. stick in a 2.5 ohms or a 1.5 ohms or HV 5-6ohms and get the same 9 watts without having to deal with thumbwheel, screwdriver or touch button and ohm law calculator.
