I have had the same experience as the original poster...I didn't want to stop smoking but my aunt lended me her Kr808 kit (well half of it anyway) just to see what it was like...and I have loved it from the start, I started buying the prefilled carto's for 20 bucks for 10 and that is the expensive way to do it...but it was still a hell of a lot cheaper than smoking normal cigarettes, then I got my first order from vaperite and wow even more amazing and even cheaper than prefilled carto's.

It just amazes me how great the transition from analog to ecig has been, I never wanted an analog from the moment I started vaping...just because I enjoyed vaping more than smoking...I did have a period where I ran out of carto's (before I got the vaperite juice) and I did go back for one night to analogs...I had to remember to ash the thing again :p

edit: I am glad my aunt lucked out with her first kit on a Kr808 and not a super-mini...that was just luck on her part as neither of us had done any research on this until recently now I just ordered my first kit the Inferno 510 from Volcano...and even with the purchase of that and a months worth of juice I still have spent less this month than I would have on my pack a day camel habit.

I feel exactly the same way. It's too great to be this easy. I'm waiting to find out that the ecig juice is filled with evil noxious poison or something but I really don't think so. I was a 2 pack a day smoker for 30 years and I really can't believe its working but unbelievably it really is. I am very happy camper.

Welcome to ECF and the wonderful world of vaping ! It's possible there could be a few minor bumps in your future with a totally unexpected urge to smoke an analog (had one in my 5th week) but for me I chained vaped my way through it and reminded myself how awful my last analog has tasted and all was well again. I have no idea where that urge came from and hasn't returned again so all is well at 7 weeks analog free today.

The worse thing about vaping is the new addiction to buying new things to try. It's harder to stop myself from placing an order once or twice a week for something new than it was to stop smoking ! :) We're still nic addicts but we're a bit healthier addicts now than we were when we were smoking those nasty analogs.

Welcome Housemouse. It has been that easy for me. I smoked for about 42 years. No quit smoking anything ever worked for me and I tried them all, including hypnosis and one drug that made me fall madly, ( I'm talking the most wicked 7th grade crush you've ever had) crazy in love with the Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank. I don't know if there are any other recovering Bernanke stalkers (C-Span) out there, I may be the only one. Any way I stopped taking the drug and while I still think he's pretty hot, he no longer occupies every other thought and I'm getting more work done.
:lol::lol::lol: I tried one of the stop smoking drugs, but thank goodness Bernanke is safe from me!!

I've been dying to tell that story.

Anyway it's been 15 weeks since I had a cig. I'm very happy, food tastes great, I stopped coughing and I stopped getting headaches. Hope you continue to have a great experience.

o_O What med was that? I've known a few people to take some cessation meds and have panic attacks, but never any that worked like a love potion...

I occasionally catch myself rolling down the car window.

This is one of my favorite things - Not rolling down the window. I was fortunate (or not so much, it was due to an accident) that I started driving a new (to me) car about the same time I started vaping - so no ashes, burns or smell in what I'm driving now - vaping actually makes my car smell good! And since I live in the rain (Portland OR), not rolling my window down is a pretty nice bonus.

I read here a lot before I ordered and kinda went with the fire and ice because some other posters seemed to enjoy it. It didn't disappoint at all. I picked the clove because I always liked clove cigs and it's about a dead ringer for one. The Irish Cream I never would have ordered as my own pick, but it got thrown in as a sample on an order I made and it is really great too. I tried Watermelon and that's a big fat no. Just can't stand it. I'll give it to one of my friends and they might enjoy it. This is turning into quite an adventure sampling juices.

I had a watermelon from Dekang and it tasted like a spent plutonium fuel rod. Good job on researching first. I heard that the ELP Essence Clove was good from listening to the VaporCast. I believe they said it set the bar for Clove. Not sure if they had the Tonic clove or not. I cant wait to try this fire and Ice. Does it have any lemon taste to it at all. I hate a menthol that has a lemon taste to it.

I know, it seems hard to believe that it is really that easy huh!! I figured I totally set myself up for failure when I decided to vape and quit analogs. I ordered my starter kit 1.5 weeks before starting my final year of nursing school. Planned on having a good week of vaping before returning to classes. Unfortunately, my kit was on backorder, and it didn't arrive until 2 days before the first day of classes. I figured, what the heck, I will try this and see how it goes. I have not smoked an analog since the kit arrived!! Even with the stress of school, clinicals, lack of sleep, etc.

When I returned to classes, 2 of my classmates still smoke, and I went outside with them between classes because I was in the habit of taking smoke breaks with them. Even after only 2 days of no analogs, I found the smell of their cigarette smoke to be nasty. I was stunned!! It had only been 2 days since I was fogging up my porch with that nasty smoke! Now, 2 months later, I find it borderline nauseating and headache inducing to even sit by them in class because I can smell the smoke on them. I, too, had tried to quit before and always got sucked in by the smell of a lit cigarette. Smelling the smoke was a sure fire way to knock me off the wagon.

Way to go on your success!!! Be proud of yourself and give yourself a big pat on the back. You are doing great!!

HouseMouse!

Welcome to ECF and to a new life! I smoked for 30 years also and this was WAY too easy! I just needed the nicotine and the hand motions of smoking to stop the analog habit and it worked!

My Ecig gives me all my body wants in nicotine and the flavored vapor makes me so happy. I am so thankful to not to smell anymore like rotten cigarettes. I'm so proud too when I walk into a store because I know that I no longer smell disgusting. I chewed gum like a mad man to cover my stench but I know I must have failed.

Good luck and keep spreading the word. THIS quitting method works better and it's easy!

I stalk the postman, think analogs stink, and yet I still have the occasional analog after 3 months of vaping. Do not get discouraged if this happens, from what I've learned in my short time experimenting is that for some people this process is immediate where others it takes a little more time find their groove....My first month vaping I was analog free, but found myself in month 2 wanting an analog. I now am down to about 5 analogs a day and a heavy vapor. This to me is outstanding because I have smoked roughly 3 packs a day for 20 years. I will eventually get rid of the analogs completely, but am pleased with the relatively short process it has been for me to cut back as much as I have.

There is no catch as far as I can see other that increased senses. The smell of food and other normal scents are much more intense and my taste buds have changed even though I am not completely analog free. Too good to be true, maybe but it works for me. :p

The drug was Chantix. I know a few people who did very well on it. I, however, fell into the experienced "rare" side effect group.

That's the one everyone I knew had panic attacks on. I actually don't know anyone that didn't have bad side effects so I refused to try it. Glad it works for some people though.

Well said, housemouse (and a fellow Kentuckian to boot)
I'm in the same boat, a 25+ yr smoker who started vaping just a couple of days ago, and now analogs smell terrible. I'll admit I've had a couple in the past couple of days, but I believe I'm done with them. (amazing how they smell/taste now).
Good luck, and let us know how things are going......

I've been analog free for two weeks now, I too wonder if there is a catch. So far for me the only downside I have found is the cost. One of the biggest reasons for wanting to quit analogs in the first place was the constant rising cost. I hope over time I can settle into a maintainable vaping budget.

Either way I feel I am in a better situation vaping over analogs

Good luck, enjoy vaping

Yup, it don't even have to be a really great ecig experience for it to work. I knew my first drag off my Blu. Told myself, self. . .this will work. Lots of people knock that little sucker, but I admire the heck out of it. The best thing about it for me was it showed me the possibilities. Five months gone and I still catch myself unconsciously tapping my left shirt pocket with my right hand reaching for an analog. 51 years, 2.5 packs a day when I quit. Pushin hell outta two cartons a week. I don't even consciously think about them anymore, just my body still getting rid of the old habit. Good luck to ya with your quit.

Cheers,
otrpu

I occasionally catch myself rolling down the car window.

Wow, most of the habits of the habit are gone for me. I don't even think about lighters anymore, my coffee intake is way down for some strange reason; it's just not as enjoyable as it was with analogs and I have never tried to light my ecig with my lighter. However, the window thing is becoming a battle between me and my 16-year-old.

LOL,,,I just can't stop cracking it when I am vaping!!!!!!! I have it up and then I vape and see the vapor and immediately I crack it, whether I'm alone or with someone else in the vehicle. When I was smoking I couldn't stand to have the smoke linger and that habit has followed me into the world of vaping. My daughter and I have had several spats because of it. She is the kind of person that is cold all the time and my cracking the window just irks her to no end. I can't even stop myself, I put the window up, vape and down it goes, she says to me "You don't need to do that," I look at her put the window back up and take a couple drags then stop. A few minutes go by, I start vaping again and down it goes. Daughter "Mom, you don't need to crack that window." Me "Well, I just can't stand for the vaper to be in the car." Daughter "You don't need to do it, roll it back up." Me "But I just don't feel comfortable with it up, it doesn't bother you at all?" Daughter "No, put up the window." Me "Are you sure it doesn't bother you?" Daughter "No, now put that window back up, it's cold in here! Geez, it bothered me when I got smoke in my eyes, but you kept smoking then this doesn't bother me at all. Now, put the window up" And then a few minutes later it starts again.

It does amaze me that my daughter is not at all bothered by the vapor.

I am uncomfortable when vaping in my car in public at times when she is with me though because the car is just filling up with vapor and she's telling me to keep the window up and all people are seeing the car filled with vapor and looking at me smoking some strange device and I'm thinking "Oh lord, they probably think I need to be reported."
