OK, I'm off the analogs and pretty happy with cartridges. I've figured out how to fill them and get them to last for a good long while. So what's the deal with "dripping"???
Dripping happened for me when I realized that the cartridges lost flavor and vapor volume before they were empty. I kept taking the cart off to "top them off", so I joined the rest of the drippers by putting the drops directly onto the atomizer bridge instead of into the cart. Cut out the middle man. I vape a lot, so carts never keep up with me.
Today is my 9th day off the analogs and I found that dripping works best for me as it seems to give me a better taste, throat hit and more vapor. I think I was wasting liquid because I was filling the carts and still could not seem to get a lot out of them and was dripping 2-3 drops every so often. My mom, who got me on vaping, suggested I just use a drip tip and see how I liked that and I have to say it works great for me and I will be sticking with it from now on! Give it a try and see if you like it! Everyone if different but you will find what works best for you
The only real advantage to using cartridges is they're cheap. Dripping or cartomizers are the way to go. Dripping gives you way better flavor. I also find it saves on juice, because you usually have to top off a cartridge before the juice is even gone. Then, when you clean the batting, you waste residual juice.
Also, in relation to how good dripping is for flavor and consistency, you can try the CE2 cartomizers to get the same effect, if dripping doesn't work out for you. I love dripping, but I'm using the CE2s in the car, and other places that it isn't easy or safe to drip. They are a little bit of work, but I've got clear ones that hold 1.8ml of juice that are really nice because you can see when it's time for a refill. Just for other options.
Dripping is not recommended with batteries that have an open hole in the middle of the threaded end (which is probably all automatic batteries and some manuals). That's because if you flood the atty the juice could go into the battery and kill it.
And if you have a 2-piece e-cigarette then you first need to get an appropriate atty that will fit the battery directly or with an adapter and a drip dtip (or one crafted out of a cart shell for the atty).
ive only been dripping for a couple days (510 starter kit). i love how much better this tastes, but, my atty leaks something fierce, with even 2 drops. thinking about getting an ego for my 2nd e-cig purchase, and hoping it leaks less.
Or, if you find that you really, really like dripping, you can find a good bottom fed (3rd gen) mod that feeds juice directly into the atty from an internal juice tank. There's one that I started a couple of brand new vapers on with little or no problems.
