Lol well yes I did come up with the tea bag ...but not the pyramid ones..it's hard even to find those in the uk and I wasn't sure if the nylon might give the same problem of loose fibres but I am looking to get some PTB to try because I can see that the loose fibres won't be any problem with the PTB's because the material is woven together and without doubt it sounds like the nylon material wicks much better than the hemp does. It's been great to see how everyone has been developing and improving on the idea.

A fantastic UK innovation!

I've got to say this really, really works miles above any standard cart filler.

When I read about it here I realized my Green Tea I drink uses the same material for their bags as Lipton uses so I got to work with one of the bags. Tip to anyone that doesn't want to dump out the tea, brew as normal then open it and dump out the used tea. The nylon mesh is washable with a quick rinse, so no tea taste in your juice.

Using the tea bag I can go 5-6 vape sessions (I use mine like a smoke, 10-12 drags every hour or so) on my 510. With a standard cart, one maybe two sessions before I need to top it off to get any kind of decent vapor that isn't air.

Agreed, it's a great mod!

Some thoughts:

  • Can you post the height of the material you've used with success in the various cart sizes, 901, 510, etc.? I've cut one too short and had to put a spacer in the cart for that one to wick better.

  • What about putting the crimped end facing the atomizer, instead of towards the mouthpiece end. Might this provide a greater method of transfer to the bridge? I'm trying it now on a 510 atty and it seems to be better, still not certain though.

I'm having a huge problem with this mod.

I CAN'T FIND THEM!!

It appears that Wegman's in Rochester NY does not carry the Lipton product. So I bought PG Tips, figuring a pyramid is a pyramid, I mean they were all built by aliens right? Wrong! These are paper, similar to a standard tea bag.

Did you know that I just can't say or type tea bag without cracking a smile?

So off to Tops I go tonight. Hopefully they will have them. I'm SICK of 5 hits before I have to top off again.

I've been stubborn up until now and I'm ready to try.

Its worth the effort, trust me. I used to top off 2-3 drops every 10 minutes. Now i top off about 10 drops every hour or 2. Its saved me alot of liquid. What i hated is when i'd take out the filling of a normal cart and the top 1/3 is completely dry and the bottom 2/3 is soaked, it seemed like such a waste. Now i figure i'm getting use of the top 2/3 - 3/4 of the filler when using the ptb mod.

I was able to find the PTBs last night at Tops.

WWOOWW!

I am now a true believer. So many more drags, no taste change, getting much more use before a top off, filling is easy without stuffing removal.

I'm going to give it a few days to look for any negatives, but as of right now. Wow! I should have tried this a long time ago!

For those that are having a hard time finding the Lipton Pyramid Tea Bags, I looked in 3 different stores and finally found them. They were in fact in all 3 stores, but I looked right past them cause I was looking for a bigger box. The box is not very big...probably 4 inches tall by 2.5 inches deep. The only reason I found them was that at the third store they were right at eye level. When I looked at the pictures some members provided I got the idea this was a big box...it's not.

The examples provided work quite well for the 510...for a larger deeper stepped cart (like on an 801) the material (once the seams are cut out) won't provide 2 refills and winding it the long way doesn't provide enough surface area, however this is easily dealt with by making a small piece for the bottom section and a larger folded piece for the wider top end of the cart. Seems to wick every bit as good as on my 510. Now to try it on my pipe! Sooooooooo much better than fiber materials!

Ok I must be doing something wrong with this mod. So far I can't see where it's any better the using poly fill. Same number of drops to fill cart. Same if not less number of drags before top off(about 8-10). And still about 3-5 drops to top off. And plastic burnt taste after most of the liquid is used from the opening of the cart. Doesn't seem to wick well.
I tried different ways to install in cart. Single roll, single roll folded, double roll(2 separate rolls). I'm I missing something? Oh I forgot this is with a 510 battery and a 510 pt straight to 5v.
