Solder used in atomizers

AFAIK there isn't any (can't even imagine anyone using lead) but even on the off chance there IS- I doubt you'll get an honest answer. Your best bet is to disect one yourself and inspect it. Look for a dead one or one on it's last legs, and go over it with a fine tooth comb.

Yep, there is solder where the wires from the battery connector join the atomizer coil's legs. It's supposedly lead free solder though. A lot of solder is lead free now.
See, that's what worries me. How can you guys not worry about it?
There are some VERY HONEST companies in China.....Just like everywhere else, please don't classify all in one group b/c of a few BAD vendors of other items....That is exactly what we are trying to fight with the overpriced substandard e-cigs being sold in mall kiosks! Most e-cigs are great, just not the ones sold by those slime balls! The FDA is trying the exact same thing with the carts....found a vendor that had 1 bad cart and now they are trying to damn them all......
The FDA only needs to find one and then they clamp down....impound shipments, etc,
Just another reason to start producing in the US.
Personally, I'm not worried about the possibility of lead in attys....that is usually a problem that affects children,,,not adults...and children are supposed to be banned from e-cigs anyway.
Lead is everywhere, including dirt, dust, new toys, and old house paint.

Seriously, to protect yourself from everything that might harm you would be to not live at all.

Why do you want so much for us to worry?
I don't worry because I see little reason to. Soldered connections aren't going to put lead vapor into my vape (they're not in the part of the atomizer that the vapor comes from).
As to all the other things -- well, if you question anything minutely enough, even water, you'll find plenty of potentially scary things you can lose sleep over. Everything in life is a risk. I've seen nothing at all to indicate that there is some big, bad bogyman waiting to jump out at vapers in particular, but I've seen plenty to indicate that there is such a beast waiting to lunge at smokers.
I don't worry because by vaping, I've reduced my overall risks.
Who said some of us are not concerned about what is in our atomizers or our e-Juice? I for one am. But as a former PAD smoker I look at it from perhaps a different perspective than some.
For over 20 years I put that chemical cocktail that comes out of the end of a cigarette into my lungs. Did I know there were health risks involved? Yes, yes I did.
Now I'm sitting here with an atomizer that probably has lead solder on the wires filled with e-juice with unknowing ingredients that comes from who knows where. Do I think that vaping under these conditions is without risk. No, No I don't.
Why am I not extremely worried about it? Perhaps it's excepting a possible smaller risk for a the alternative of a know higher risk.
I'm not one of those people that runs around telling people that vaping is as safe as mothers milk. I know that there are complex Monetary, Legal and Political issues wrapped up in the e-Cig industry.
I hate to say it. And I know that using the "R" world on this form is an invitation for a good old fashion flaming. But with regard to manufacturing standards such as lead free solder or expectable e-Juice ingredients, I think some Regulation is needed.
I know that both e-cig kits I have purchased, V4L & eGo-T, have the RoHS symbol on the box which should mean they are lead free.

Thanks, but I'm pretty much wondering about atomizers because of the contruction. Since the kits you bought use either cartomizers or the tank system, having the RoHS symbol on themis good to know, but it still doesn't tell me about atomizers.

cartomizers have a built in atomizer....would affect them too.....even the tank system has to use an atomizer of some sort....

If you have concerns about lead and other hazardous materials in your e-cigs, contact the supplier. chances are they would be happy to give you more info. Both V4L and cignot have given me excellent customer service. I wouldn't worry about just the solder. RoHS Compliance covers every component of the product, otherwise they technically would be out of compliance with the RoHS directive.

I understand that cartomizers, and the tank sysytem of course have atomizers. I guess I should have been more clear in stating that I am more interested in the 510, 801 and 901 type atomizers contruction.
