I've only researched the e cig for a couple days and have some silly questions. I'd search the forums, but the info is so overwhemling, hopefully someone won't mind my newbie questions. I am quite sure this annoying to ecig veterans :D

1. Fascinating how people here are quitting smoking! Once you get used to it, is it really so easy to give up regular cigarettes?

2. Puresmoker.com is under construction.....I am wondering if I can quit smoking and switch to e cig, what would be the monthly cost? I average about 2.5 packs a day (3 a day on weekends)

3. Cheaper to buy prefilled cartridges or fill your own? Why would you fill your own? Is a cart really comparable to 8-10 cigarettes?

4. Is it recommended to get spare batteries, parts, etc from trusted online stores, or does anyone buy off eBay or similar auction sites?

Well its easy to a point to quit depending on how much determination you have IMO. Out of all quit smoking helpers out there this one seems to be working best for me.

Doing liquids is cheaper than carts but you may want to do both until you get use to vaping. .Its not like smoking but more like sucking on a straw drinking a milkshake.. Puresmoker IMO is awesome and should be up and running soon. Steve and them are awesome and helpful. Cost will be determined by if you do just liquids or just carts or both..

I have bought 2 starter kits 2 usb passthroughs 2 atomizers and several carts and liquids and spent maybe 280.00..

Always have extra parts.. If you buy a starter kit you could get away with one extra atomiser but expect to buy another of those and another battery as well fairly soon..

I bought a penstyle from puresmoker and I have not had any major issues yet.. (Knock on wood)

Not sure if E-bay would have items for e-cigs as I read here they just recently stopped allowing some items on e-bay..

(Disclaimer)
I did go 11 days without analogs but slipped so started my banner over again.

Good luck on what ever you decide..

Hey whatagem,

Let me try to kelp you out a bit, keep in mind I am fairly new myself.

1. Honestly, I was quite shocked myself, I receved my first e-cig TODAY at 11:30 am, and stopped smoking on the spot. 0 analogs today since they came in.

2 I am going for a long shot here, but your gonna spend $70 on a kit and $30 on Juce. However you'll find it real easy to blow even more than that.. I would suggest getting at least one extra atomizer.

3. Fill your own, flat out. 5 carts = $5, 30Ml Juice = $30. I filled 10 carts today and hardly put a dent in the bottle. (Tomorrow will be a NORMAL day at work, see how we do then)

4. Let me put it this way, if I ran outta smokes during the day, I would run and get another pack, lost my lighter, the stove works.. If you run outta carts, break an atomizer or all your batteries are dead, your gonna be waiting a minimum or 3 days..

Welcome Whatagem! I'm fairly new also. I've been e-smoking for a little over three weeks. Quit analogs that same day. I did have one or two here or there, but mainly because my batteries weren't charged. Now I have two complete sets of ecigs. I've got a Pilot and an Evo, with extra everything.

It is cheaper to fill your own. Cartridges are about $1. apiece! You can buy a high nic liquid and cut it with glycerine. I but it at Walmart. It really cuts down costs.

Find a distributor that you trust (just read these forums and you'll soon learn who to trust), and buy your starter e-cig kit, extra battery, extra atomiser, and some juice. You might want to get a charger for your car, if you drive a lot. I have never bought any e-cig stuff off ebay. If you found someone reputable, that would be okay.

I smoked about what you smoke. I have saved money for sure! Plus the taxes are going up, up, up!

Good luck and have fun!

I've been hearing a lot of rumors and hearsay about
these products and whatnot - but I'm still unsure what to buy.

Is the Pilot THE premium vaporizer?

I smoke 30-40 full flavor, non-menthol cigarettes a day, should I start with:
Pilot starter kit (silver or black?)
extra battery
extra atomizer
juice (which kind? I don't want to buy cartridges if they are so much more $$$)

Like mentioned earlier, I don't want to be without if something breaks
or runs out etc. - I want to QUIT "analogs"

any help or guidance would be appreciated - thanks

First, there is not a model I would describe that way. Second, no, it's just newer. Folks get excited and post a lot about new models. It has it's pros and cons. A couple threads if you missed them:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/m-401-402-mini/7133-huge-pilot-fan-m401.html
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...views/8017-night-out-evo-pilot-pt-2-fail.html

You'll want at least two atomizers, preferably three, and yes an extra battery.

Juice is great, but when I'm not at home packaged carts are a heck of a lot easier to deal with.

Another Newbie question, while I wait on my 901b from ruyandirect,(in customs this morning....hope it got through) are there any reliable juice suppliers that sell sample packs? I'd love to try a few different flavors, rather than buy one 30ml bottle to find that I really don't like it.
PureSmoker does, and they should be back up in a couple of days, and Johnson Creek does as well - Johnson Creek Original Smoke Juice - The Best E-Liquid in the World - Made Right Here in America
