Hi
Complete newbie to e-cigarettes.
Just got a starter pack three days ago. So far so ok and down to three or four real cigarettes a day instead of 20+
I really want to stop smoking now once and for and all and am caustiously optimistic that I can do it with the e-cigarette, also am more inspired now after reading some of the success stories on here.
I have a couple of questions.
With the starter pack I received four cartridges, they dont seem to last long at all, many half a day with only occassional use. Does that sound about right? I feel like I have only taken maybe 20 proper drags from it and the cartridge is empty?
I think maybe I could have bought a better brand but have spent a fair amount on it now so will have to stick with this one until payday at least!
I am still having quite bad cravings for a real cigarette but I suppose that is normal?
Thanks

I am new as well and yeah the carts don't last long for me either. Even after topping them off I only get a few "good" drags. I sometimes drip 2 or 3 drops on the wick after topping it off and risk the nasty taste from the liquid in the mouth becuse then I get a killer drag. Sometimes I get lucky and I get a great hit with no liquid. It's like pounding two Marlboros at once.....SA-WEET!

I hope as time goes on I won't debend on that sonic hit as much as I do now. I'm an amateur.

dublindoodle - Can you refill the cartridges or are they designed to make refilling hard? Rebranders make their money selling spare parts and tons of carts to people.

Are your carts a plastic mouthpiece with white stuffing you can see and they press onto the atomizer? Or cartomizers that screw right onto the battery?

If carts (the press-on ones) you can probably refill. If the part with a the white stuffing is recessed deep in the mouthpiece then you may need to push it up by sticking an unbent paper clip into the mouthhole and see if that pushes up the inner cart so it can be refilled. Do not do this with a cartomizer (the screw on kind).

With carts, once the white stuffing gets clumpy and starts working bad, you can replace with a kind of blue foam you have cut to the right size and that lasts longer.

If you have cartomizers (the screw on mouthpieces that also hold juice), some rebranders make them hard or impossible to refill by using hard caps and sometimes gluing them on. If you can refill them, then cartomizers may last for 4-13 refills before dying or tasting burnt.

I am new to this as well. Having cravings still is completely normal and pretty much expected. I am having them here and there over the short few days I have stopped smoking (this time around), but the e-cig's really seem to be helping. For me it is a matter of will-power (with a little help from vaping) I have quit in the past and lasted a week or two (cold turkey) then went back to it. I have to say that using an e-cig, I feel MUCH less anxious to have a smoke already compared to previous attempts. There are tons of good people on these forums to help us out, this place has really helped me learn a lot.

Best thing we can do for ourselves is to just keep at it. If you slip backwards a bit, don't sweat it, and don't give up. There are many people here that have done away with smoking, no reason we can't do the same if we keep at it :) My goal is to eventually get to 0 nicotine if I can, but if I can't, so what? No tobacco & chemicals is a GIANT step to make my life a little better (and cheaper). Good luck to you!

Thanks for all the replies.
Managed not to smoke all evening so feeling a lot more positive.
I am using a brand called intellicig? I am in Ireland and there is very limited choice available so far.The pharmacy where I bought them had no idea about them! I cant refill the cartridges myself but will have a look online and get more if I need to. I have bought a started pack and got some refills earlier.
Am definitely going to do it this time and think this will work for me.
Thanks for the advice
