Just getting rolling (again) here with the vaping after a 3 year hiatus. So far so good. The equipment available now is SOOOOO much better than back then. Much less fussy....

Got some carto questions.

I got a dozen or so cartos with my original order and so far I've used about 4-5 of them. I also got a couple sampler packs of juice. And as I'm trying out the juices, I'm finding some I don't like.

I've cleaned out a few cartos using a turkey baster. I've read about drying them in the oven at low temps - about 200 degrees. Is this method generally accepted as safe for all cartos, or only certain brand/types?

If just air drying cartos, about how long does it take for them to dry? I refilled a carto that I had cleaned out that had air dried at least 36 hours, probably closer to 48. But I'm guessing it wasn't dry because when I refilled and tried it I got no vapor. I could hear it firing, but I'm assuming no vapor because it was still wet? I'm guessing I'll have to clean it out again and dry it fully before using it again.

Also - how many cartos are in the "typical" rotation? I suppose that's a loaded question. I know it's prudent to have a couple brand new spares on hand. Would I be better served using many cartos, say 7-8, some in active use while others are air drying, or keep more unopened and perhaps oven dry those in use after I need to clean them out due to a juice I'm not liking?

Also, also - I have an Ego Mega Clear Dual Coil. Is that safe for drying in the oven? The clear plastic has me wary on that.

Thanks in advance!

Lowest setting on your oven is okay. I use a top fan circulated food dehydrator. Works great.

Air drying can take 2-3 days depending on the size of carto.

No vapor means it's still wet.

Typical rotation for me is about 20 but mine are all in tanks. You should keep a couple boxes on hand at all times. You never know when one will die.

For the clear dual coil, don't oven dry. You can pull it apart gently and blot it dry with a couple paper towels. Just make sure you don't crack the tube. If you do, get some BD brand 3ml syringes. BD brand is the only brand that I've found that work as a spare tube. Cut to fit it.

Geico can suck it.

Hahahaha!

Welcome to ECF Jeff. Like Hairball, I have about 15-20 Carto's now. I really only use about 5 and try to have the rest clean and ready to go. I haven't used an oven to try mine yet, but to clean them I boil them for 5 minutes then let them dry until I need them, which is looking to be about 5 days, so by that time they are dry. They are cheap enough that Ive bought about 10 each order and I was able to stock up a bit.
