Hi everyone. I am a newbie and would appreciate advice. I am currently looking for a starter kit. My friends started using itaste vv but I am keen on Ego C. Can somebody let me know if the ego c 1000mah really has the variable voltage option? I saw that on Joye eGo-C 1000mAh Kit - The Digital Cig. I am keen on getting one with that option, else I prefer the ego c twist like what https://www.cignot.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=KIT-EBC-ALL has to offer. Which is better? On another note, any suggestion on where I can get an economy kit in case please? Many thanks!

Hi and welcome! Neither one of the kits you linked to is variable voltage, like a Twist.

ETA: eGo "Upgrade" batteries, as Thrasher posted below, are advertised as "variable voltage," but they really aren't. I have one and it really isn't any better than a standard battery.

The eGo Twist is a Great e-Cigarette. And cignot is a Very good plac to buy from.

I would recommend an eGo Twist to anyone.

I helped another new vapor with choosing a new eGo variable voltage starter kit in this thread earlier today: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/369128-what-kit-start-2.html#post8306912

The parts for the setup come from two separate, reputable vendors approved by ECF that sell genuine Joye eGo, Vision, and Kanger products, so no worry that the devices are cheaper knockoff that are lower in quality.

I also gave some recommendations for e-juice vendors that offer sampler packs.

The "upgrade" eGos can operate in unregulated mode, so the battery goes from approximately 4.2V (on full charge) down to about 3.2V, I believe. Regulated mode (or a regular eGo) is regulated to 3.3V during the battery's life. There are benefits to either. If you have a good atomizer to match 3.3V, regulated mode will give the most consistent experience. True VV will allow you to fix the voltage over a range, so you can set it to what you prefer for your atomizer or the juice you're using.

So the regular 1000mah doesn't have the option to change voltage at all? I saw this : The upgrade battery feature:
Like other eGo batteries the constant voltage output is a constant 3.3V. With the Upgrade feature on the new eGo C battery you have an additional feature called the variable voltage output mode. With this mode the voltage will change from 4.15V to 3.6V as the lithium battery power decrease. This is the mode where the LED light will remain orange. See below on how to activate this mode.

Operation:

1. To switch from constant voltage output mode to higher voltage mode:

Switch battery to the off mode by quickly clicking the button 5 times. The LED should be blue and blink 3 times.
Press the button for 5 seconds or until the LED changes to orange and blinks 3 times.
The battery has now switched to the variable voltage output mode and the LED is orange while is use.
In this mode you can still use the 5 clicks to turn it on/off, but you will not have a power display in this mode.

Yes/No?

Do you have an Upgrade? I do. From my experience, it's more of a gimmick than an innovation. It's true that the voltage varies in the unregulated mode, but only that it goes down as the battery discharges. You have no control on where it's set or indication of what level you're at. You have to click back to the "constant/regulated" mode to see if the battery is fully charged, half charged or almost discharged.

The difference between this and actual VV is that you set the voltage in VV. With this, it "sets" it based on how much power it has left. A regular, non-upgrade eGo is always at 3.3V.
correct with true VV you set it and it stays there the other way is to extend battery life but may be a crappy vape as the battery dies off.

I dunno...

I have an eGo Twist.

I turn the wheel one way for more volts. The other way for less. It's simple and it works Great.

I do not. But I have eGos, Twists, and a KGO, which is unregulated, and is essentially the same as an upgrade ego in unreg mode. As I said, the battery life controls the voltage.

Echoing what I posted about. There is no indicator to tell you what the voltage is.

Hmm.. interesting. I know this is going to be a "silly question" but I will ask anyway. Is there really a difference between non variable and one that can? Big difference?

No question is silly! In the beginning, when I first started vaping, I didn't notice any. I had a regular eGo, and when I got my first Twist, I couldn't understand what all the hype was about. But as I started to be able to better taste flavors and my senses became more acute, I really could tell the difference. VV affects juice flavors, throat hit, temperature - it offers the option to customize how you want to vape. I have 2 Twists now and love them.

Most likely you will end up trying various types of juices, atomizers, cartomizers, clearomizers and you might find that you'd like more vapor, or the juice to be a little hotter, or the throat hit to be a little better. This is when VV is useful, since you can actually dial up the voltage. A VV ego is a little more expensive and a little longer than a regular eGo. If you don't mind the size difference and can spend a few more dollars, it's probably worth it.

An eGo Twist and a T3 would be a Very Nice Set-Up.

And BTW... VV is the ONLY way to go.

These are not Joyetech, and you can get Twists for less, but they are unusual: TWIST VV Variable Voltage Paisley Design & Dragon e cig batteries
