Hi all. So as I am sure most of you did when you started vaping, I am trying a number of flavours from different manufacturers to see what suits me.

In the last couple of weeks I have been alternating between my regular juice (Ultimate Juice, 70vg 30vg) and a couple of liquids from other vendors.

When vaping the other liquids, after a few puffs I find that my heart seems to beat much harder. It's a difficult feeling to describe. These liquids are from 2 different manufacturers with the only thing they seem to have in common is a higher PG content. One is 60 VG and 40 PG and the other is a 50/50 liquid. Note that this never happens with my usual juice.

I know some people have intolerance to PG and I am wondering if that's what's going on here? My reason for trying the other liquids is I am struggling to get much flavour from the 70VG 30PG liquids and I want to experience the flavours I hear others raving about.

Just after people's opinions and seeing if anyone else has experienced this? I've deliberately not named the liquid manufacturers as I know they are both reputable companies and I don't want to cause them any unnecessary bad publicity as it were.

Cheers guys in advance for your advice.

Sounds as though you have already pinned down the culprit (PG) since it does not do it on your lower PG juice.... I have never experienced your symptoms from high PG or vaping but that it no way suggests that it's not real.... There are many unknowns to vaping yet, especially considering that our body chemistry is all slightly different. That may simply be the way your body responds to PG. I can sit down and drink cup after cup of coffee and it bothers me very little while others I know can only drink one or two cups and they are nervous and can't sleep. Could be a similar situation with you and PG.

PG is a mild lung irritant and thus also responsible for the throat hit...

Time to become your own guinea pig...

See if you can get the same flavour with varying PG concentrations.
If not, you might consider trying your hand in DIY.
Or find a buddy that whips up a batch for ya and then vape the varying PG/VG ratios.

Should be easy to work out the level of PG you're ok with.

Worst case you'd be at 100 % VG, another alternative for PG would PEG400 .
That case you will need to look into DIY. AFAIK there's no ready liquids with PEG400...

I am PG sensitive, (not allergic, sensitive) and can handle no more than 10% concentration. It is like inhaling a bunch of pins and needles. I am not a fan of the sensation.

I also DIY, and I use PEG 400. Before that I was using 90% VG and whatnot.

You can thin a high VG mix with up to 10% distilled water if you want to, although that is totally up to you and you may or may not need to.

I did not notice my heart beating harder, but it probably may have been, due to the uncomfortable lung sensation.

I also want to point out that at NO point have I said YOU have a PG sensitivity I described my experience and I am also not your doctor. Mine was rather helpful but he actually vapes, so I did not have to do stuff like explain what VG and PG actually are, etc.

Most people have replied in regards to how you feel. I have a comment. You said, "My reason for trying the other liquids is I am struggling to get much flavor from the 70VG 30PG liquids and I want to experience the flavours I hear others raving about."

The flavor comes from the atomizer(RDA, Tank, RDTA, RSA, etc...). Also to me, it sounds like you are getting a nic buzz. I am assuming the nicotine concentration is constant in all of the juices.

Just wondered - I associate thinner/higher PG liquids with higher nicotine concentrations, typically aimed at mouth-to-lung vapers. Thicker/higher VG liquid might tend to have less nic since you're more likely to vape it direct-to-lung.

You've not jumped from low to high nic by any chance?

I had one juice making me dizzy.
I vaped it for a while and felt weird, but i just shrugged it off since it had.never happened before.
Then i took a long hit and bam, everything was spinning, had a hard time walking but the worst thing was lying down as the spinning got worse and i had to throw up.

It lasted for, id say 2-3 hours
I have no clue why it happened, the juice was mixed exactly as all of my juices.
Im guessing it was a certain flavour that i cant deal with but no clue what.
    Down the drain it went.
    Never happened after that

Sorry meant to state in my Op - all my liquids are 3 mg of nic and I have not been getting headrushes or anything that I would associate with too much nicotine.

In terms of setup - I am using an imnokin zenith with the 0.8 coil. I had always read that these tanks produce great flavour but I am not finding that - especially compared to my Nautilus 2.

Some liquids leave me feeling wiped out, eyes tearing, nauseous, head-rush/congestion, etc.
Usually chalk it up to overvaping. Probably a mixture of too much PG & too much Nic!

PG does make me itchy/aggravate my psoriasis, if I overvape for a few days.
VG does aggravate my lungs, but only when I switch to solely vaping high VG juice- & it goes away.
make sure you're thoroughly shaking up your bottles. VG can sink to the bottom.

safe distance from a black hole
Sometimes juice is just off and anyone that vapes it feels off, Ive experienced that along with some work colleagues who bought the same juice.
It could be out of code ingredients or not enough attention paid to sterilization procedures by manufacturing staff.
PG makes me feel off and so do a few non PG based flavours. Vaping at higher watts makes me feel off.
I also discovered that not all VG is the same. I recently bought a different brand and experienced a pretty off feeling. After working through what I mightve done wrong mixing I got to the point where it could only be the new VG. It does have a different taste to the usual VG I buy.
Im not allergic to PG, I can rub it on my gums and stick it on my tongue with no negative reaction, I simply cant inhale it finely atomized. Its the same for the VG based flavour concentrates I have that I cant vape, I can eat them, I cant inhale them.
    I cant vape most flavours.

How many ml are you vaping a day, what ohms and at how many watts? Maybe you just cant vape at higher watts/temps and only smaller quantities.

Currently getting through 5-8ml per day on a 0.8 coil at 18w

Weirdly I have only vaped the higher PG liquids today and the effect isn't anywhere near as bad. So maybe it is just a case of getting used to it?
