Hello everybody!

I spent some time to browse the forums, but maybe didn't have the luck to actually find the matters of interest for me right now. Therefore, sorry if maybe the issues here are already discussed elsewhere. So please anyone find some time to answer or direct me to the threads on topic.

I have received today from Hong Kong my Super Electronic Cigarette Deluxe-001 Blue device Starter Kit from E-Cigarette-Mart.
I followed the instructions in the leaflet and tried to smoke. Nevertheless, some problems have seemed to disappoint me:
1. Not enough "smoke" came out the cigarette, not to mention that the exhaled amount was almost null;
2. An annoying hissy sound made me feel just like trying to smoke a punctured tobacco cigarette - for the smokers, this is quite irritating;
3. The "smoke" amount used to apparently randomly vary alot. Sometimes it almost looked and felt like the real thing but most times the scarcity of the smoke used to be simply frustrating.

Well: Is this the whole experience? Have I done something wrong? I must say that I had been expecting much more from what had seemed to be a breakthrough in the fight against tar. Is it a fact that some (substantial) disappointment comes with the territory? Or maybe did I choose the wrong product/brand? Is there any ex heavy smoker using any e-cigarette brand or type who could match into an acceptably satisfactory fit?

Sorry for my English, I am not a native speaker and I may have phrased it funny and unclear. Anyways, I am waiting for some guiding out of the problems above.

Thanks.

I had the same issues too when I first bought an e-cigarette. The first kind I bought was a "DSE 103 super mini e-cigarette". I was not satisfied with that one. But I don't know anyone else's experience with that one. But soon after
I purchased the "pen model dSE 801" I noticed much more simulated smoke than the one I had previously. So far my smoking habit is still the same, but as it is now I still prefer real cigarettes yet I do smoke the dse801 throughout
the day. Though I believe there are many providers out there in the world that may have better e-liquid I have only tried one kind, I got the menthol flavor from "the liquid shop" online. honest.. I am not 100% satisfied with what I have now, but I bet if I do some more searching on the topic I'll find an e-cigarette to my liking, maybe an e-cigar..They do look cool, my only wish is that it can bring out a lot more smoke than the one I already have.. :rolleyes:

I have e-smoked for almost 4 weeks now, so I am myself a newbie at this, but I will relay to you my experience and impressions anyway, in case it could help.

After reading this forum for a while, I got a penstyle (longer battery life -so to speak- and bigger carts). The first couple of days I made myself use it, because it was not that great. The vapor was reasonable, but the taste, well....

However, it grew on me, especially after I got flavored liquids that did not pretend to taste like tobacco. I went from 22 real cigs a day to 4 in the space of 12 days or so, without suffering too much.

I have no personal experience with other models, but my impression from reading in here is that the smaller models (and I don't know your model, Obss) require more of a learning process to be "smoked" with some satisfaction. Many here rave about the mini, or dse-901, which is smaller than a penstyle but bigger than a supermini. The supermini works for some, though, but many find it unsatisfactory.

Sometime the batteries that come with e-cigarette are not fully charged, which would result in poor vapor production, so you should give them a full charge (4 to 8 hours). Also, be sure that you are not smoking an empty cart (even the penstyle's carts last way less than the advertised equivalent of 20 cigs). I know of atomizers that normally "gurgle", but the hiss may come from an overheated atomizer, which would then result in a burnt taste, that you'd notice. And I agree, get some liquid in a flavor that you like, which may improve the whole experience.
Good luck...

Well Obss~

I am a heavy smoker (of tobacco cigarettes) and I have just switched over to the E-Cigarette. I, which I regret, purchased the cheap Super-Mini from ebay. Don't get me wrong, its not HORRIBLE, just definitely not as good as I thought it would be. The taste isn't awful, it will take some getting used to, but you're very right...the amount of smoke and "kick" I get varies like crazy. It's like every time I take a drag, I never know what I'm going to get. The hissing sound I can get over, and, the actual "function" of the e-cig - keeping me from regular cigarettes - well let me just say I used to smoke a pack a day, and it's almost bedtime and I've had TWO regular cigarettes - it definitely helps. I feel that your statement is right - this war against tar, it would just be too good to be true if there were NO disappointments involved. I just have to weigh the benefits with the drawbacks and realize that if some little device can cut my smoking down by 90% in one day with minimal cravings - then there definitely is something here.

:) First day on e-cig - NOT BAD at all! :)

Sound like you got a duff. Usually its the other way round and people are blown away by e-smoking. When an e-cigarette is working correctly you will be able to see the same or more smoke than a regular cigarette and if the cartridge isn't 0 nicotine, you will feel it in your lungs much like a regular cigarette. Before giving up with it have a look at the reviews section and some of Dusty's videos. Personally I think the DSE901 is the best starter ecig and is shown in action on the videos.

I tend to side with Schroedinger's cat, I prefer the penstyle and feel that its probably the best for starters...
