Hi, this will be my first post so be nice :)

I'm a newbie to vaping. I've got a kangertech mini protank-II. I've only had it a month or so and it's been great so far. I converted to get off of cigarettes for health and financial reasons. But I've encountered a couple of problems in the last week or so. If anyone could help me out that'd be great.

First of all, just recently when I inhale there's a sensation and noise of 'bubbling' liquid. I can sometimes feel liquid droplets being pulled up through my Ecig as I draw on it. Just today I had two larger 'droplets' fall on my tongue giving a warm, tingling sensation...I pretty sure this isn't right. I took it apart, emptied the juice and cleaned it. After putting it back together it's better but still feels like very small amounts of the liquid is getting drawn up. Any advice? Am I just being overly paranoid or perhaps I'm putting the juice in incorrectly?

Secondly, I've noticed a metallic taste in my mouth occasionally since starting to vape. Why is this? What is it? And most importantly is it safe?

Thanks

I had something similar when I started to vape with the liquid getting pulled through the wicks. I've found that when smoking you take quick hard drags off the cig. This will encourage faster wicking of your eliquid and then the excess will kind of be sucked up like a straw. It took a bit of getting used to but once you get in the habit of taking longer slower drags that should go away.

I can't offer any advice on the metallic taste though I've not encountered that.

Congrats on the switch and welcome

After you fill it is also a good idea to blow though the mouth piece and have a paper towel at the other end. Sometimes when filling some liquid gets in the center tube. As for the metallic taste, not sure it may be your juice. Also after a month your Atty/head most likely needs cleaned or rebuilt/replaced.

If you take your protank mini out into the cold and then bring it back inside, when it warms up it will flood. Some have advised keeping it upside down while it warms up to keep that from happening.

If you don't keep the tank at least half full I've found it can start to flood as well, something about the vacuum in the tank.

Also, make sure your battery tip is clean. Juice can leak out of the tank and collect in the battery. This will not only result in some gurgling but it will eventually go rank and produce an aftertaste. You can clean the top of your battery connection with a Q-tip.

Make sure the head is screwed into the base firmly, not doing so can cause flooding and poor voltage as well.

Metallic taste might just be coming from the stainless steel drip tip. It's replaceable. Acrylic tips can be had for a couple of dollars.

And yes, as mentioned above, no need to inhale so hard, an easy, slow draw will actually produce more vapor than a heavy draw will.

One thing I started doing when I refill my tank is take a paper towel and cup over the end of the vaporizer (I guess that's what it's called lol) and sling downward a few times using centrifugal force to get any excess liquid out of the vaporizer. Sometimes I noticed it would be almost black, I guess from the wick buildup. This seems to help tremendously of getting rid of that gurgle wet feel on the draw. Hope that helps.

Oh yeah, I rotate out two different batteries and when I use the eGo, I notice a metallic taste in my mouth but it also has a metal driptip. Might try a glass one soon.

Thanks for the replies. I think Vaperature might be on to something. My house gets extremely cold overnight, and I also often leave my ecig in my car. It's winter here now so it's very rarely above 10C...might explain why I was getting no liquid last night, but was drawing up liquid this morning.

As for the metallic taste, I currently have a metallic mouthpiece, maybe that's why? A few of you mentioned a "dip tip"...I'm not sure what that is?

Drip it is a mouthpiece--you have a ProTank 2 so it comes with detachable drip tip; try replacing it with any 510 drip tip; I like Delrin. they come in many colors and shapes--this is most basic design:
