This Saturday at 10pm will make exactly 3 weeks since I had my last analog.
I had a slow start though and to tell the truth I didn't originally plan to quit smoking completely. My original purpose was just to use the e-cig to cut down and not smoke indoors around my wife. I got my first e-cig kit Joye 510 on July 10th this year. For the first week I stopped smoking right away in the apartment and I went outside to smoke about 5 times a day. My wife was really happy that I stopped smoking inside. For the next 6 weeks I only smoked 1-3 a day on average and a few days I didn't smoke at all. Finally on Sept 4th at 10pm following a day that I had just 1 analog all day after having not smoked the 2 prior days at all I decided it was time to quit completely. The first week wasn't the easiest I definitely had some urges to light up but since then it's been pretty smooth sailing. I hardly think about smoking now and more or less just get urges when I feel I really need to vape. So of course I do hehe nothing wrong with that. I've had all the usually "symptoms" of quitting. My skin looks healthier, I breathe better, my ears feel better (they used to crackle when I swallowed I think I had a upper respiratory infection), I have more energy,I can smell and taste again, and just feel tons better. I have also had a much unexpected result. I have a favorite pair of jean shorts that were getting almost too tight to wear, now they won't stay up without a belt lol. I'm a pretty big guy and lately I had been wearing 2XL but recently my XL shirts are starting to fit again. I haven't weighed myself but I think I have lost somewhere around 10-15 pounds. Since I started vaping I drink more water, eat less snacks, do less boredom eating, and I go for some pretty long walks, which my dog loves. I also have another side effect that I'm not sure everyone experiences, I used to have very frequent heartburn and sometimes it was really bad, now my heartburn is pretty infrequent and seems to be getting much less each week. My not smoking has seemed to also have an effect on my wife. My wife has some health issues (Diabetes, digestive problems, and some other complications) and for the last few months that I was still smoking was making a trip to the hospital just about once a month. I find it pretty hard to believe that it is mere coincidence that since I got my first PV on July 10th she hasn't been to the hospital once, and her overall health seems to be be improving. vaping hasn't been perfect and I have to say it has been alot of trial and error and to some degree I am still experimenting and changing some things (I plan to get an eGo and Mega- cartos soon) but overall I love it and it has made some great changes in my life. I know many people say these things save lives, in my case I have to say that it may be saving 2.
