I used to just use my carto tanks at home and use regular cartos at work cause I didn't want people wandering what the heck I was doing. I got laid off for a couple of weeks though and after that I couldn't go back to regular cartos! So to heck with them! Everybody was used to be me with the cartos but I got a couple of strange looks to my tank.

I can understand having 3 tanks.
I see some people look like they have more than a dozen or what seems to me more than they could possible use.
Why so many tanks?
And the man with 7 will ask why someone needs 12. :p
Man, this question reminds me so much of the guitar forum I've been frequenting for the past decade...
"Why do you need more than 3 pedals - I don't see how anyone could use more than 3."
And the answer is the same here as there - Some people just like to have more flavors available!

Why so many tanks?

Because I want them. Last count was 27 tanks. But I've bought more since. That's just the Bella, Elegance, Unique, and JonBoy's. Every tank is a different color with a Bedazzled glass tube. I also collect custom made drip tips, designer Ego batteries, and mods. I have them all because I enjoy them. I also use them all. I have a juice box full of flavors that I like to vape daily. I don't eat the same food for every meal so why would I want to vape the same flavor all the time or look at the same color of tank or battery. Every flavor has its own tank/mod combo set up and ready to vape. It's convenient and I quite enjoy it :)

I'm sure you have something that could be considered excessive. People buy what they enjoy. Some have the bare minimum for vaping. Others, like me, enjoy buying a variety of items and trying new things. It's a hobby, not just a way to stop smoking. Even if I decided to stop vaping I would still enjoy my tanks.

The same question could be asked about everything that we buy.

I was never thinking there was anything wrong with it. Just seeing why. My mind works a little different. I search until I find what I really like then get enough to make my life easier. I try to have what I like best around and dump what does not work for me.

I have found several things I like and don't like in the e-cig world. It is heavily biased in the don't like but I have somethings I like. I am just starting to hate the accumulation of things I will not ever use again.

I'm a .....! Plain and simple. I have been vaping for a little over a month. Packages were arriving daily for almost two weeks straight! Wife thought i was crazy! 2 AGR locking cartotanks (3ml and 5ml tubes on both, does that count as 4?), IGO-L Dripping atty, Boge F17 Skinny tank, IClear30, 3 Kanger Evod's, 2 Vision Mini Nova's and 2 Vision Nano's. They are all full right now except the IClear. On a work day i will take anywhere from 3-5 with me depending on what tanks i bring. I think that's gonna whittle it's way down to 2-3 once i get a daily vape flavor going. Getting close! Genesis style tank in the near future as well. Once i get that down i'm sure i will end up with a few more of those as well as some more carto tanks from various vendors.

Happy Vaping!

I know that feeling! I have a drawer full of clearos and such that I've tried and didn't like. Since I found the carto tanks I've been a happy vaper. I'm one of the few that loves cartos and the tanks just made it perfect. I also like the T3 and MT3 and have about 15 of them in use. They are portable and sturdy so I keep them filled to grab and go with me. I don't like taking more than one tank with me since I'm concerned about scratching or breaking the glass tube in my purse. I have one pocket in my purse that is perfect for my Provari with a tank.

I didn't think you thought it was wrong. I figured you just wanted to know why :) It would be much easier if I liked dripping since I vape so many flavors. I have NET tobaccos and teas, fruit mixes, coffees, chocolates, desserts, and sweets.

Dang! You gots some purdy stuff!

Thanks! I really love them :)

Tanks can break. Grommets and O-rings can wear out. It's important to have backups, especially if you're highly addicted to nicotine.

Of course there's the hobbyist aspect to vaping too. It's fun trying out new gear. It's like asking, "Why do you have more than one or two mods?"

Right now I have four tanks, but have had as many as eight at a time. I generally like to PIF old gear, especially if it helps convert people from smokers to vapers.

I have nothing against collectors and to people that this is a hobby but the people that have more than 20 tanks it is not backup. It could be 20 preloaded flavors .

I often get wrapped up in "finding the perfect mouse trap" so to speak. I like to try different options, new things, new styles. Haven't gotten a duplicate tank yet.

I suppose I'd rather keep one tank :: one juice flavor, so every time I add in another juice staple I want another good tank for it.

    It's my own crackpot Socratic method of testing for the "perfect setup" that keeps me acquiring new stuff for other new stuff -_-;
