Ok I am on my second attempt at e smoking and going in to this with a lot more knowledge then the first time. I purchased both the Penstyle and 901 from Steve at Puresmoker.com and he has been great.

As far as handling nicotine? I always thought it shouldn't get on your skin since it absorbs and you can get too much in your system? Am I correct? When you guys talk about squeezing the liquid from your carts do you wear gloves to do that or am I wrong about that?

I know there will be a learning curve for me and I will have to train myself to not try to get my fix so fast (I am a rapid smoker and take quick drags). I just was curious why more companies are not trying to perfect the e cig? I would think the American Lung Association would back this product? Maybe they do? I would like to know from anyone, who is in support of this and is there any funding going on for the developement of e cigs?

I would also love to hear from people who have been sucsessful in replacing tabacco with the e cig for an extended period of time. I want and need this to work for me. I am a smoker period. I smoke 1.5 packs a day and have been smoking since I was 14. I am (as of today) 43. Time to quit.

Lastly, I love this forum and enjoy reading everyones opinion and all the helpful videos, so any info and advice is really appreciated!

welcome Pj

there's some veteran on here that'll answer many of your questions more accurately than i but, as as far as extracting liquid from carts I can help a little.

it seems most people will use a syringe. load the syringe with carts and squeeze the liquid out. if you're not really concerned with wasting the liquid left in the cart and you just want to clean it out, i pull the wick out with tweezers and run it under the tap then blot dry (I don't know if this method is common or proper but maybe someone else could give some insight).

Hope that little bit helps...

I have used both methods mentioned for cleaning out the wick material. Now that I have settled on one flavor I guess I'll try keeping the liquid and recycling... Prior to this time I have squeezed em out in a syringe, rinsed em in water and blotted dry on paper towel. Seems that it's (the wick) always a little on the flat side and takes a while to hold as much liquid as it previously did... I am watching a couple threads on the actual wick material at this time; really like to be able to replace it with fluffy new stuff each time...
