Some thoughts on all this ecig legislation and laws

I am somewhat new to vaping and have been doing it exclusively for a couple weeks now and during his process have been on this forum and youtube trying to learn the ropes and during this time have learned that there is a lot of people that don't like vaping...non-smokers AND smokers. I told my realtor (whom is a heavy smoker) about my current status, ect and she just replied, "you better be careful with those electronic cigarettes"!!...(cough, cough)...anyway...

So what if they ban vaping in the same places smoking is banned? I don't give a damm. As a smoker, I have been dealing, as the rest of us have, with this "ban" for several years now. I will keep vaping, stealthy vaping is easy ( provided you don't be bonehead and blow huge plumes of vape in the air), stealthy smoking is not. Banning vaping in public is not going to drive me back to tobacco. Although...banning vaping in bars and nightclubs is ridiculous but like I said...stealthy vaping is easy plus....who is going to complain?? I am sure there will be some a-holes that do but they'll settle down eventually.

Restricting the sale of ecigs to minors is a good thing.

Restricting the sale of ecigs to everyone (all different types but especially the components of the non disposable types) is bad...and probably not doable. It would be like banning pipes, ....s and rolling papers. The loophole I imagine would be..."for use with non-nicotine ejuice only)....yeah right, like that water .... you bought for "tobacco use only".

The regulation and taxation of nicotine is where it's at. Nicotine is the new tobacco. You will not be losing your ecigs, just get ready to start paying big bucks for the nicotine juice. I am afraid it will be a large tax because the government, big tobacco and big pharma will be losing a ....ton of money otherwise.

The outright banning is just not doable IMO...especially with cigarettes still being available...how could they justify that?

As a X smoker I can understand why smoking is restricted , to a point .
The government needs the money or just can't stand the money going to some thing other then in there hands.
Others just need to hate some one- smokers , fat people any one that it's politically ok to put down and call bad .
But that's the way it is .
We will never be able to stop it there's just to much money being made off of us.
Look to Alcohol and other things that can't be spoken of ?????????
Well I can go on and on but what's the point .

Well...maybe we should worry. I was reading over on another thread..... I wasn't aware of it but the EU has passed legislation restricting ecigs to a point of.....well let's see....I guess BLU's and the like will be ok and of course made by the tobacco companies. They have banned everything except the batteries. The member states have two years to adopt this stuff so it is not in effect at this point but there is speculation that a lot will go ahead and adopt it before....to fight the rising tide i presume. If i wasn't so damn scary it would be comical.
If this stuff gets banned here we can rest assured that we are being ruled by TYRANTS!!

I can go off on a rant on this subject but I won't do it here. Just a few words.....these greedy governments just want our money and would be happy to see us sick so the economy won't collapse. They don't care about our health or the health of our children. They use the children as a front to their devious ways. All we're trying to do is find a healthier alternative to smoking. Vape on and enjoy....:vapor::vapor::vapor:

I think this pre-emptive legislation without just cause is ridiculous. Legislation for the purposes of health hazards would be understandable, but there's no proof of that. Instead, these politicians are claiming to be protecting children?? One actually said that ecigs would be a gateway into smoking...It's just too far gone...

Well....I got a feeling that all the radiation from Fukushima will make up for the lack of people that don't get cancer because they vape now. There is a huge tri coil nuclear powered atomizer mod over there pumping out some serious radioactive vape clouds...got a great metallic flavor. It is Diacetyl free though.

Just to funny:laugh::laugh::laugh:

I don't mind the whole "can't vape in certain places" thing because I understand it can be rude to others. I do take issue with taxing it like crazy. It's just another way for the government to get more money. Keep the prices how they are or tax it a little. A major positive of switching to vaping is saving money. If it's just as pricey I guarantee there won't be nearly as many people wanting to switch and become healthier. It'll only deter people.

I think some enterprising e-cig company should get a list of all the smokers in Congress and send them complimentary e-cigs (good ones that work well) for a free trial. I'd bet that even if they "closet vape" them, they'd get on the band wagon and put an end to a lot of this legislation. Unless of course they just keep on closet vaping so they can get their payoffs from big tobacco.

I live in CA and the proposed online purchasing ban has me freaked out and ...... off. The battle cry right now is the "oh please won't someone think of the children?", but we know that is crap.

I am a grown up, I can buy all kinds of other things on line that children are not supposed to buy (porn, adult toys, tobacco, alcohol) but all of a sudden I cannot buy e cigs? "For the children", my hiney, it is *for the taxes* is what it is for. Also, what will they decide next that I cannot order online? What else would they like to limit me to buying only in person? This sets a dangerous precident. What can we do?

I think we need to push back. Look where letting them push us as smokers has led them. They jacked up our insurance & make/made us pay ridiculous taxes because "they" said smoking is "bad." As bad as taking anxiety drugs? As bad as sitting on my .... drawing disability for the rest of my life because I refuse to take said anxiety drugs? How can they possibly know the long term affects of taking anti-anxiety medication any better than vaping? Just because it looks like smoking it is must be bad doesn't fly with me because smoking wasn't as bad as some of the meds the health & insurance industry goons have pushed down our throats. Do you seriously think they are only looking out for our best interests now?

Sorry for the rant and please be aware I am not directing it at the OP personally. How can they justify any of it? The only justifiable tax is a flat income tax and/or a flat sales tax. Everyone pays the exact same amount. It doesn't matter if you make $1,000 or $1,000,000,00 per year. As for the "it looks bad crowd", I don't want to give them a single centimeter of ground or they'll be rounding up people with tattoos, piercings, moles, bad hair, acne, etc. We have to draw a line and they are coming very, very close to mine.

Sorry.

Don't be sorry for ranting, we ALL need to be ranting. I am mad as hell and ranting. The hypocrisy these people have is sickening. Bottom line is about the money. Big pharmas money, government tax money, big tobacco money. There are a lot of factors at play here but the sad part is that none of it has to do with protecting peoples health, that's just their big steaming pile of bs cover story.

Keep watching the food industry. Bad foods are already being defined and guess what after that! TAXES!
