I didn't see mine until taking out the coil assembly, and removing the Silicon cap, then pulling out the metal top to the coil. Don't pull on the wicks, the bottom one is attached. Shine a light in or something. Might still be hard to tell (I broke mine pulling the wick and was able to easily see it... Heh). If your liquid is gaining a visible darker layer while setting still in the tank that could be a sign of a dirty wick. But I highly doubt your wick could be dirty after only 3 days unless you ran it dry which you didn't. Could just be a faulty tank. Does your other one behave like that?

I've experienced leaking into the mouthpiece when having the tank upside down briefly. Usually took some napkin and about 5 or slow draws to return to normal after that.
I usually lay my tanks horizontal even when filled. Two of my first few leaked when upright, but halo customer service sent replacement tanks.
No, the other tank is behaving normally, so I suspect you're right about the faulty tank. Halo asked me to send pics, which I did, although not sure how a pic of an empty tank will prove much. I guess this will be my first test of their customer support.:2cool:

No need to be sorry, I appreciate your guidance.
The other thing I've noticed is the plasticky taste, which I didn't see the other posts on, until after I filled the tank, so didn't do the hot water bath etc. until I began vaping.
I was just wondering if between the bad tank and the plasticky taste: since I'm within the 30 return return window, do you think I should return the Triton kit and go with another alternative?

You maybe w/in the 30 days and whatever makes you comfortable and stay off analogs. I got two tanks out of about 30 that had a plastic/chemical taste. I found out on here that possibly out of the factory, a little bit of primer or what have you may have been coated on the wicks.

Now I rinse all my tanks/wicks prior to use brand new out of package or if they are used and im changing flavors and let them dry, then use. I've never had the issue again. It is a learning curve and frustrating when you've done your research, spent the money and having nic fits! Trust me, I know. I nearly quit the whole vape thing w/in my first week due to a horrific dry hit. Nearly knocked my socks off!!

I got talked from jumping off the ledge so to speak, taught the proper way of doing things and its been awesome since then. Halo stuff is high quality, but if you feel it's not for you, let them know and see what they are willing to do. And of course, plz voice any issues here and all of us can see if we can help! Keep us posted...

The Triton holds 2.4 ml if juice. If you had to keep topping off when it went below 2 ml, what would be the point of having all that capacity? {IMO} -I have vaped until there is practically no juice left in the tank. I do this often. With no burnt OR dry hits. This is how I do it: I always set my Triton on it's side when I am not using it. Mine never leak so this should never be a problem. Because it is a top coil wick fed system, when the liquid level starts getting low, the coil can get starved if you leave it upright. If it is on it's side, this can never happen as the wick coil always stays saturated. Just my two cents.

WELCOME to the Halo community. There is endless information and help here from the Halons........... :vapor:

Wholeheartedly agree about the learning curve! I was actually very content until I got juice all over the place and then the plastic taste. Halo agreed that it sounded like a bad tank and are sending a replacement. I'll look forward to giving it a wash (as well as the one I'm using with the plastic taste) and take it from there.

Thanks for the welcome and the advice. Quite nifty, all the support out there.
I thought the same about the topping bit, but was looking for real experience so as to avoid burning up my remaining tank, until the Halo replacement arrives.

Another question: (bearing in mind that I have suffered from the plasticky taste and haven't yet washed out my tank/coil) I've noticed that when I fill the tank to the 2.4 level and puff away, it tastes poor (can't say if it's plastic, but just poor); but when I keep vaping and let the same tankful of juice decrease to 1.6 or so (where it is as I write), I get the real nice Tribeca taste. Is it just me, my tank, or what??

I know it was like eating a bowl of peppermint suckers.

I want to rub it all over my body and run around in the snow naked.

Not to mention you'd be putting on QUITE a show for the neighbors there Supergrover! ( and no jokes about putting the "SUPER", in Supergrover) ahem :p:blink::vapor:

Might have had some juice make its way into the Middle shaft . Check your battery make sure none had leaked to it. I find that if that happens to me the taste gets weaker until I clean off the battery and cook away the excess juice in the tanks shaft. Another side effect of the excess juice being in there is Jess vapor production. It seems like it gets better for you when low that much because you burned out excess juice that may have made its way into there.

Easiest way I remove the juice from battery is napkin corners. Once I use all four I start folding the napkin to make more corners to stick into the battery and swipe around until it stops getting juice. From the tank itself I just keep tanks horizontal add much as possible and take slow long stags. I find myself wiping out the battery about twice when this happens to me. I use paper towels or toilet paper also. It's something that happens to my mess reliable tanks. I've had two of my 5 I've never had to do this for.as for the other 3 I need to do it every other refill or so but then it's good until empty
