Old is relative, I'm still making these, here's three finished in April- early May: a nicely figured Koa, Cherry and another Pacific Madrone.

i've never understood the appeal of box mods but i do like those. very steampunky. if i ever do go the box mod route that's what i'd want.

Thanks. They really are more of dual tube mod made from a solid block of wood. One of the tubes is still there, the other is replaced by the wood. I've got some hope for taking this and changing it further to make it more of a pipe mod in the next couple of months. With a little luck I just might get some more wood tomorrow. Koa and curly maple.

i'd be very interested in the pipes. i bet the koa pipe will be sweet. that's some quality wood there. are you getting it from Hawaii?

I felt like you until I made some aa box mods they have become my favorite. I also assume to feel top of mod press buttons and side of box enclosure are weird but then again everyone loves reo's and such.

The middle neutral mod as is awesome makes a beach type feeling.. Love the way it will stain with time and e juice. Really like that.

Ahhh the beach, all those abrasives and ferretic particles! If you dropped one of these in the sand it would be a detailed cleaning ASAP. Especially the magnets in the switch and the acrylic tank. I thought the magnets would pick up more debris just with regular use not at the beach, but they stay really quite clean. The top plate between the switch and atty and nuts collects pocket lint and dust mixed with vape and salt however...

I requested block sized pieces of wood and the only koa was 1/4" strips, bummer.

I did get a large block of maple with some figure to it and one of black walnut. I only saw these briefly via skype. Anyone know the difference between walnut and black walnut specifically in machining differences? Somehow plain walnut is a little too soft and splintery for me and rather common.

Yes, the Black Walnut is much more resinous to machine well. use slow cuts and sharp blades :)

I am still not a fan of magnets in my switches btw :)
