Last week like an IDIOT I packed my chuck in one of the outside pockets of my suitcase and checked it at the airport. I had put in a hard eyeglass case and thought it would be fine. Well, we when we picked up our bags at baggage claims it was gone. I feel so stupid!! Needless to say it put a huge damper on our trip. I didn't want to risk trying to carry it on and have it confinscated and put it in one of the outside pockets so I could get to it right away. Anyway, I hope whoever helped themselves to it enjoys it and then chokes on it. A big thanks to Sincit-E-Cigs for delivering a 510 kit to our hotel and saving my sanity and thanks to Wafflestomper for sympathy, I needed both! I've placed an order for 2 more (1 for backup), but still...I'm very bummed.

That's utter BS. We have all these strict TSA regulations, some a bit unreasonable, that are in place to protect people and prevent bad situations, but then there are always a few scumbags who take advantage.
true, my friend and I went to NY one yr after she had neck surgery---they stole her entire bottle of pain meds out of her bag...Imagine how ...... she was and how much alcohol she had to consume to control the pain.................s!

Thanks y'all for the sympathy and threats of bodily harm. :p Seriously though, it really is an awful feeling and I knew you all would understand. I truly don't know how people can live with themselves or what the heck they must be thinking. It's just pitiful. And someone's pain meds?? They probably really had to dig to find those in someone's bags. I don't know, just the thought is disgusting.

One thing I've learned though...lock those bags!!

Locking your bags is tricky these days. If you don't use an approved lock that they can open with their master keys in case the x-ray sees something they deem suspicious, they can and will cut the lock off.

Anything important should be in your carry on which either goes in the overhead above you or under your seat.

Someone I worked with took a vacation immediately before an out-of-town sales meeting. She had 2 bags with her. The case with the stuff from her vacation got shoved in the overhead. She hung the garment bag with her work clothes in the big closet they used to have up front. When she went to get off, her garment bag was gone. Another passenger had helped him/herself to it. And, because she hadn't checked it, the airline wasn't liable.
