Ok so let me start by saying that my newly acquired pv is by long and far the best i have ever used!! Now onto my problem, i have two EH AW IMR 18650's at home that i was planning on using with the extension cap, so i get home, slap them in and the device wont fire.......swapped the other battery in.......no fire. The 18500 AW IMR that i received with it goes right in and goes to work. Am i missing something??

Any info would be great!!!

Its a EH, sorry for no pics im at work at the moment. It works with the 18500 which is a AW and no extension but not with my EH 18650 and cap.

It sounds like the cap. Something isn't connecting. I don't have an extension cap, so suggestions of cleaning or making sure the spring is making contact are just conjecture on my part.

since the provari is known to work we will try again with pictures.

there is a cutout on the board inside the provari

the nipple on some batteries are not tall enough to make contact with the board as shown here.

look at the two batteries you have you will notice the aw is very flat and the nipple sticks out well

on the left you can see the battery with the shrter nipple from the second picture, i am sure this is where the problem is as i went through several batteries doing this before i figured it out.

I took a quick look online. The EH are available as both flat and button top.
It;s hard to tell exactly from the photos online, but the button on those button tops look a bit short. Shorter than the AWs. They may just not be making contact with the center pin inside.

Since the AWs work and the EHs do not, you have to suspect the problem is this the EHs.

And the pictures that Thrasher just posted illustrate this issue perfectly.

I use AWs, but my latest minion came with a button-top 18350 EH. I'm using it because it was close at hand. It works, but it will soon be stored in the back of the Zombie Apocalypse drawer.

I have bought several different batteries and with the provari i would get some that work and some that dont even out of the same type or model numbers. when I measure them with calipers there is just enough of a difference they dont hit the contact.

so im almost sure if the PV works its those specific batteries causing the problems
