An Ego T gives a constant voltage of 3.3V (unless it's an upgrade battery with 2 modes, is it?) which should not make a coil taste burnt even if the coil was 1.8 low resistance.

if the vendor received a bad batch of coils, which they may have and is not their fault---

ask for a higher ohm coil (try 2.2 or 2.5) IF the coil they gave you was 1.8ohm. Just get a different ohm at any rate.

That way you are at least getting coils from A DIFFERENT BATCH.

Does this make sense? If not get back to me or PM. :)

Racehorse is right. Also try sucking air a bit faster. More fresh air in the atty will lower the temp. You can also "prime" the wicks by puffing with out pressing the button. You can pull a bit of extra liquid to the wick then fire it.
Not sure about the advice in bold red above. Might be good advice to prime the tank initially, but not necessary for routine use.

* Vaping technique is different from smoking technique. Adjust your draw for the best results. *

Best advice for a clearomizer like the OP is using is for them to use a long, gentle draw into the mouth (mouth inhale). Imagine sucking a straw in a milkshake - use your cheek muscles. Hold this vapor in your mouth a full second; this will cool the vapor before you inhale it into your lungs.

Vaping too fast or too hard can wreck havic with a clearomizer. Either the wicks will not be able to keep up ---> dry burnt hits. Or they will flood the coil with too much liquid and the excess will remain in the air chamber unvaporized ---> gurgling, juice in mouth, juice on battery.

I'll agree with the possibility of a bad coil head right out of the box. Quality control of coils heads is very hit or miss (mostly miss). Also agree about using higher resistance coils.

Get rid of it and get a RTA - Erlkonigin, R91, KFL+, etc.. You'll save yourself a lot of money & grief.:vapor:

Others may disagree, but recommending a novice to get an advanced device like a RTA (rebuildable tank atomizer) which requires building their own wire coils and wick, knowing a basic knowledge of Ohm's Law, owning an Ohm reader in addition to a small tool chest of tools, etc, etc is somewhat inappropriate. Please consider what level a new member is in their vaping journey before suggesting a relatively complicated device.

Some new vapers even cringe when told they have to change coil heads in a simple clearomizer and/or have to fill the tank themselves. Its a big leap from smoking where they just lit up a ciggy and smoked. Not everyone is handy with DIY projects or into the hobbyist/enthusiast aspect of vaping. Those tanks recommended are in the $80 - $100 price range; a novice won't be aware that they might be able to get a clone of those for 1/3 the price.

Sometimes a progression of baby steps is best.

Yeah sucking like a Hoover vacuum is bad. I noticed with my mom early on she was not drawing hard enough and the vapor was cooking. That was on a stick battery. So only way to "adjust" temp is with air flow. Keep in mind small incriminates not shop vac vs turbine but more like a half a pound of suction up and down.

Yeah, I guess you're right. I forget sometimes that something so simple for me may be difficult for others. Thanks for reminding me.
I started out rebuilding iClear heads, but I've been learning electronics for a year. I'll try to keep your advice in mind in the future.:)

A wick on TOP of the coil. What was replaced? The missing wick? Or the piece that held the wick. Twice now I have been in a shop the same one both times. Seems liek a standard boxed answer when people are having this same problem is to tell them its "missing a wick" and they just stick an extra flavor wick on top of the coil wick. Which of course doesn't fix the issue.

Are you priming those coils before firing them??? Not getting them juiced up before firing will be really nasty tasting.
