So as if I wasn't having enough of a bad year...someone got into my house and went through everything I own. They stole everything out of my lockbox (what was i thinking keeping that much cash in the house?) and also charged about 1k on my credit card (brand new hadn't been activated yet). I'm not sure whether to be sad or mad...I've had that lockbox for 20+ years and put the money I wouldn't spend on myself in it. It really peeves me to think that all of that time saving and someone went out and blew it without thinking or caring that I worked very hard to save it...

I know how you feel had a breakin while I was at home, not only did they get my money and checks and things but they got me to where I didnt feel anything I owned was safe even myself. I'm sorry just keep in mind they will go to jail at some point even if its not for what they stole from you. The theif that got my stuff went to jail for 5yrs but not from theiving my things. Sorry again .

I can't imagine having been there....just the thought of them going through all of my things freaked me out, but I couldn't imagine actually having to watch that. Thankfully they were caught and were stupid enough to use the credit card at places with cameras and the cops already knew them...apparently mine was not the first house in the line....

What really peaves me is that it turned out to be my friends (the only one that I've had in the house in two months) brother. This makes me mad because my friend brought him over when he came to hang one night and apparently his brother decided to go on a spree to all of his brothers friends houses. Even more...after I told my friend about it he said that it sounded like his brother. Why would you bring THAT into my house in the first place?????

Ugghh, that is horrible. I'm glad they caught him. My best friend teases me because I'm kind of a house-nazi-- I don't mind going out to dinner with friends but I do not want anyone I don't know coming to my house! This friend tends to go change boyfriends like she changes underwear and I won't let her bring them! My stuff is here, my family is here.. and I don't want anyone here that I am not completely comfortable with.

Someone broke into our car about a week ago and switched out our seatbelts with different ones..... Why?Noooooo clue. It is beyond me.

That IS strange! Like they properly installed different seatbelts? They didn't take anything else? Were your other ones raggedy and maybe a family member was sneakily being the seat belt fairy and helping you out?

They switched 2 seatbelts. The driver's side and the passenger side. Before they were regular seatbelts, now both front seats (driver and passenger) have special child belts. Like belts made specially for carseats. There was nothing else in our car to take. Maybe it was a prank or something.... No clue but it's freaking me out!

I do have homeowners insurance, but they would only cover 200 in cash and considered my coin collection cash too. Then I'd have to pay my 1k deductible.

I found out over the weekend that one of my neighbors saw the kid go inside and decided against calling the cops....grrr. Also found that he stole my spare car key to the car I just bought this month because someone turned in front of me and totalled the other one...
