Something I learned about HCigar DNA30

When I first got the mod, I quickly realized that it didn't do the things as other Evolv Chipped DNA30's did...

For example, it didn't "lock" a specific wattage. It didn't go to "left and right" modes. And last but not least, it didn't go into "stealth mode". I was shocked because when you power it up, it specifically says "EVOLV dna", so I figured it would ATLEAST do those things.



I contacted the supplier who sold the mod. Within a couple days I got an email back saying, "the HCigar DNA30 Mod does not have those features, sorry for the inconvenience."

WELL, for anyone that has this mod and realized the same thing, I have a surprise for you! IT DOES do these things, the mod just has to be in "locked mode" (click 5x's)!

Just thought I would let the community know, for anyone that had the same problem as me, OR got a similar type of reply from the dealer. I'm 100% happy with mine, it was and is worth EVERY penny. I would recommend it to ANYONE looking for a dna style mod. It's literally an EXACT 1:1 clone, chip and all! Only difference is the Hcigar Logo instead of the HANA Logo, but that's when you just get it anodized like me! Lol! I've had 0 problems... I just use my Kayfun on it, no need to drip on it, as I have PLENTY of mech mods for that!

Here's a rundown of the modes (all work on my KSD DNA30):

Locked mode: Pressing the fire button five times with less than 7 seconds between presses will cause the device to enter Locked mode. In Locked mode, the device will not fire and the output power will not adjust accidentally. While in Locked mode, the screen will be off, except that pressing a button will show "Locked, Click 5X". To exit Locked mode, press the fire button 5 times.

Stealth mode: While locked: 1) If in normal mode, holding the fire and down buttons simultaneously for ten seconds will switch to stealth mode; and, 2) If in stealth mode, holding the fire and down buttons simultaneously for ten seconds will switch to normal mode. This setting is stored to internal flash memory, and remains if the battery is removed.

Right Mode and Left Mode: While locked, hold the fire and up buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds to display the current right or left mode – hold for 10 seconds flips the display. This allows for maximum flexibility, as well as accommodating left handed use. This setting is stored to internal flash memory, and remains if the battery is removed.

Power Locked mode: Hold down both the up and down buttons for two seconds will place the device in Power Locked mode. In this mode, the mod will operate normally, but you will not be able to change the power setting. This mode prevents accidental power level changes due to the buttons being pressed while in a pocket. To exit Power Locked mode, hold the up and down buttons for two seconds. Note: I was not able to get this working.

Cheat Sheet while in Locked Mode
1. Fire button and Minus button ... hold for three seconds to display Normal or Stealth mode. Hold for an additional seven seconds to switch from Normal to Stealth or Stealth to Normal.

2. Fire button and Plus button ... hold for three seconds to display Right or Left mode. Hold for an additional seven seconds to switch from Right to Left or Left to Right.
