I just wanted to share my discovery of Welsh Custard by Chefs Vapour, which to me is something a little special that some of you might want to try. Firstly I must say that I'm not a huge fan of custards typically, so this is either for people who ARE and want to try them all, or AREN'T, usually, and want to try one that's a bit different.
The first thing that struck me as marvelous is this can be a shake and vape. I literally made it, shook it up, and vaped a bit immediately just to try it before putting it away for 2-3 weeks, but haven't stopped using it since then. Amazing. I'll have to make another batch or two just to allow at least one to age, in order to compare.
Secondly, it might not meet your custard criteria -- I don't know! Even though I love creamy flavors, I find most custards are either overly sweet, overly heavy, overly eggy, overly thick feeling/tasting, or all of the above. So, yeah: for the most part, custard vapes to me are *usually* too cloying and overbearing. I wouldn't characterize this as Light As A Cloud or anything, but we have whipped cream or meringue flavors if we want that. This is definitely custard, but just beautifully just-right creamy with nice body yet not at all oppressive, with a light caramel flavor. It may change to become heavier with longer steeping, but if so, I will probably just make small batches and use them up before significant aging. Or maybe I'll also love the aged version; we'll see!
I'm mostly using with all sorts of other flavors mixed in the tank rather than vaping it solo (because, again, not so much a straight custard fan). Right now I'm BIG time blissing out on this mixed with a favorite gingerbread juice. Crazy, crazy good.
If you've tried it, I'd love to hear what you think! If you haven't, and any of this sounds intriguing, give it a try. As for me, I'll be ordering the big bottle next time, and call my personal custard needs sorted.
/tootle puffer, 50pg/50vg -- may be significantly different for sub-ohmers, and/or higher VG
