As I was perusing the forum I read a post about someone that had been vaping for a year. There was a picture in the post that showed an impressive collection of various vaping devices that they had been collected in that time frame.

What came to mind was that, as a former analog smoker, I rarely strayed from my brand. In my 44 yrs of smoking I had only smoked 3 different brands. However as a new vaper I find myself wanting to try all sorts of different devices/techniques/juices and see others experiencing the same phenomena.

I'm thankful that all of these choices exist but was wondering what do you guys think of this?

My current desire is to find some delicious juices that I can vape all day. I THINK i would be satisfied to find 3 to 6 juices that I could settle on. Beyond that, the rabbit hole is too deep and diverse for me to follow…but I'll probably charge down a few anyway!

Happy vaping All!

I love the options available. I started with a simple cigalike, and have since moved on to ego batteries and recently started to play with VV.

Tanks, atomizers, clearo's Oh My! I just can't get enough and wish I had the disposable income to try everything available.

I expect that within a year I will have a fairly large collection of hardware and a nice DIY set up in my basement...which I have pre-emptively nick-named "The Mad Scientists Lab". I recently went camping for a week with the family and we all joked about how I brought a pharmacy along.

I've even already loosely designed a custom PV, I just need to find the (very) specifically sized components for it without paying through the nose for a CnC shop.

I'm only 2 months in...

Hi Hot....Funny, I had posted the same thought a while ago. I have 50 yrs. of smoke behind me & can count on one hand the different brands.

I honestly believe vaping is just such a different experience - yes there's the oral fixation & the eternal search for finding the taste of that cig you're leaving behind (hopefully) but the quest to always improve on what you've found seems almost endless. There are new gidgets every day that tease your brain into thinking 'this might be it'.

You'll find the perfect set-up for yourself & things will settle down. Actually, thinking back, this entire journey has really been a lot of fun & I won't even get into the health aspect plus joining this great ECF community.

BTW.....Welcome to you & good luck.....

I live in Colombia and have no resources here but the shady guy that sell some puky tasting juice and Boge cartos + fake eGo batts.

So I purchase a lot of stuff in the US. So I decided to order 5-8 bottles from each of some of the mayor brands of juices (AVE, BWB, HighBrow, HighCaliber, Halo, Altsmoke, Clouds of Vapor CPN) and a healthy variety of cartomizers, clearomizers and atomizers + some tanks and batteries.

The pursuit of your all day vape is the hardest thing to do (and wasteful), because as smokers we usually stocked our drawers with the same brand. Finally I came to the realization that i was going to have several juices in my arsenal opposed to cigarette brands.

Now the delivery system was not that painful, cartomizers and clearomizers work fine and atomizers work better, so to me both are part of my everyday experience. Rebuildables are the final frontier.

In terms of PV pretty much all the devices/batteries work fine as long one understands the ohm law or at least know that with low voltage one uses low resistance and with higher voltage higher resistance. So decided that "fine" was not enough i wanted the best performance, so the choice (to date) is between the best variable voltage device (Provari) and the best variable power device (Darwin).

And finally, the last step of my process has been DIY-ing, 3 days into it I think sky is the limit. With vendors like The Flavor Apprentice, FlavorArt, Capella, etc, you just need to find your go-to Nic and PG/VG provider and mix all your worries away. I found my all day vapes at AVE but i'm always craving for my holy grail of vaping, Vanilla.

Thanks for the input guys. I think this thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...6666-thanks-ecf-turning-habit-into-hobby.html answers my question for me.

What started out as something to make me believe I was cool soon turned into a habit. Vaping has given me the resources to finally give up that habit and at the same time adopt a new hobby. If I think of it this way it makes a lot more sense to me because other hobbies I've had always had me searching for my personal nirvana for that given pursuit. My other hobbies also made me realize that there are many ways to go about it and get good results.

So with that knowledge I think I can relax and enjoy the ride even more now. :)

There are lots of choices out there. Vaping is very much in development so expect more changes to come.

I was lucky enough to begin with an E-Power 14650 as my first APV and I'm still using it. I bought it last November. I really have no desire to try another device right now. The E-Power 14650 is 3.7V regulated: nice consistent quality vapor. The vapor doesn't change as the battery voltage falls as it does with mechanical APVs. The 14650 batteries work well and are inexpensive to replace (like $8.80 for two). 1050 mAh lasts me all day long (16 hrs and about 2 ml). Although I have enough new spare parts to make two more complete E-Power 14650s I haven't needed to replace any parts as of now, ten months later. I use either Smok Tech single coil 1.7 or 2.0 ohm XL cartos. Never had a single problem with these.

Most of the newer VV units tend to toast LR cartos due to poor voltage regulation at less than 4 volts. I get great 3.7V right now.

I did make a radical change in my e-liquid. After I smoked my last cigarette my sense of taste improved so much that I could not stand the taste of the first juices I used. I also developed an allergy to either PG or a flavoring ingredient. Now I DIY my own unflavored 95/5 VG/H2O. I really enjoy a quality unflavored juice. Nice refreshing, clean taste. It's like the vodka of the vaping world. High percentage VG juice produces a lot of vapor. 20 mg nicotine meets my needs right now as I used to be a heavy smoker. The 20 mg also provides excellent throat hit, even with unflavored juice.

yzer, are the only ingredients in your juice, VG, H2O and nic?

Spent about 200 hrs researching before I bought the very same Mod I'm using today. Also own a Kgo, SD KeyRing, owned a Prvari, and have have had the good fortune to try just about every PV there is except for the more exotic Mods. Have on pre order a VV. If you really feel the need to buy extar gear consider DIY juice and watch for co-ops thus not breaking the bank. Also watch for the DEEP DISCOUNT sales...some are 50% off.
Cheers.

My advice would be to be open minded about what flavours you try, I've found myself filling my all day vape list with stuff that I never would have thought I'd like after I moved away from trying all the tobacco flavours.

Currently my list includes

Mojito from Enjuice
Choco Lime from Grizwalds
Citrus something from Grizwalds
Choc chip mint ice cream with cooling effect from Pixie Juice
Strawberry, can't remember where I got that from but have got a load to last me!
Key Lime from Enjuice

Never did I think I'd like all those sweet fruity flavours.

Here's the ECF DEals and Steals thread. As an example I bought 3 Kgo 1100 mah starter kits/ knockoffs last Christmas for $20 each- regular $40. The only time I've bought knockoff and the only reason I did was because ECF Vets gave high marks to the vendor and the Kit.

Another deal...50% off and free shipping 4? months ago- ordered 800.00 worth of hardware and paid $400.00. The deals are out there if you're patient and alert.

Good tips! I'll keep these in mind. :)

Being new to vaping myself, I've been trying a lot of different things from juices to techniques to devices. It's a steep learning curve but it's been a lot of fun mainly due to the people both at the local spot and here on this forum. I can already sense that I'm starting to learn what I like and how I like to vape. I feel over time it won't be as manic. But on the other hand there is so much great thinking about how to make vaping better that I find myself looking forward to seeing the work of those creative geniuses in this world.
