Sony 30A 2100mah 18650 vs. Panasonic 10A 2900mah 18650

Hello all! I have a quick question about the batteries mentioned above. I currently have 2 Panasonic 10A 18650 batteries at 2900MAH, and I was thinking about getting the Sony 30A 18650 at 2100MAH (VTC4). I am currently running a dual-microcoil cotton wick set up on my Patriot RDA with my Smoktech Magneto mod. Ohms is coming out to about "0.5" - according to my itaste MVP2. Not sure how accurate that is.

Anyways, I just wanna know if I should buy the Sony 30A batteries? I'm kind of pushing my Panasonic batteries to its limit at 4.2v (fresh charge) at 0.5ohms which gives me about 8.4amps, so i guess it would be wise to step up to the 30amp batteries. I'm just basically wondering will the batteries last as long (or even longer because of the higher amp limit) compared to the Panasonic's?

Does amperage of a battery affect its duration even though the MAH might be a bit smaller (2100mah vs 2900mah) and the other factor (30a vs. 10a) ?

So 2100mah 30a or 2900mah 10a is what it comes down to. what are the pros and cons of this battle?

Hello, your running at 8.4 watts at the full charge battery. I would get the sony vtc4 to give wiggle room. I have my trident on my magneto running at 0.57 and bought the vtc4 for the cushion.

Just to be safe get a sony, you will have slight less battery but safety is best piece of mind.

I don't like running that close to the limits of my batteries.

As was mentioned, the higher amp rating gives you added safety - never a bad thing. No one wants to become the poster boy for exploding mods.

As for battery life, mah's are mah's. Running the same voltage on the two batteries draws the same current (amps), which is to say the rate of drain on your battery. The higher mah rating of the Panasonic means it will last longer (about 35-40% longer).

Gotta chime in here. I have both the NCR18650PD (previous generation to the PF) and the Sony VTC4. Two of each. at .55 ohm dual coil dripper on a mech, I find that the vape becomes less than satisfying at 3.8 to 3.9 volts off the Panasonics. I generally drop the Sonys back on the charger and they read 3.6 or maybe 3.7.

I run the Sonys longer at low resistance than I do the Pannys but I'm still using both of each type per day. When I build at .8 to 1.2 ohms for my AW 18350s for mech in stubby travel mode, I'm finding that the Pannys work just as well with those toppers. I'm gonna use the NCRs in my VTR when it gets here though, it'll need some battery all to itself, should work great in a regulated mod.
