I have had two sets of the VCT5 batteries for the last year or so and they have performed great. I now have two mods that need sets for rotation. Does anyone know where to get these nowadays? I am afraid to purchase blindly from Amazon with all the fakes out there. So if you know where the authentic VTC5's can be purchased, please share with me.
Thanks

VTC5's are extremely overrated batteries.

First, they are only 20A batteries, which means they are not rated any higher than a Samsung 25R. They claim to be 100mAh more than a Samsung 25R, but cost twice as much. Why spend $9.99 for a VTC5 when a $4.99 25R will do the exact same thing?

I've heard that Sony doesn't make batteries anymore due to how many fakes were being produced... my boyfriend bought a set of VTC's from our local vape shop and they are total ..... Definitly fakes. They only last about 3 hours, where our eizfans and mxjo's will last 6 to 10 hours. Mxjo's are basically rewrapped LG's, they're good. But eizfans are awsome. I have 2 sets in my rotation, and they literally last me almost all day with very heavy vaping. 8+ hours.

This is not true. Sony VTC batteries can still be seen in power tools to this day. Sony never meant for the VTC batteries to be sold on the open market, but to be sold only to the manufacturers of power tools. However, many authentic VTC batteries do make it to the open market, as do many counterfeits due to their popularity. The key to buying authentic Sony VTC batteries is to purchase them from reputable vendors who can trace their origins back to Sony.

These are reputable sites ECF battery experts have recommended :

Illumn.com - Flashlights, Batteries, Carry Gear, Intelligent LED Lighting, and More!
Authentic AW Batteries - RTD Vapor
Liion Wholesale Batteries | Li-ion battery distributor
18650 Batteries | Rechargeable Li-ion | Battery Chargers

The real name brand for this battery is Efan. The top line of writing on that battery looks like "GIZFAN".

These are the same cells as the VAMPED 40A, if you want any info on them - Vamped 40 Amp 18650 - 2000 mAh | E-Cigarette Forum

This battery is only a 20 amp continuous discharge rated battery, 40A pulse.

The general consensus seems to be that the Sony VTC4, VTC5, LG HE2 and Samsung 25R are all better choices than this "40A" 2000mah battery. This battery is only a 20 amp continuous discharge rated battery, 40A pulse.

My eizfans are 3000mah, they aren't the same ones your showing there.

Well they work for me and they last me all day, haha. Is it bad for the cont. Discharge to be under 20A?@Vi-NG @Baditude

As Vi-NG said, it depends upon the application that you are using the battery. Don't build lower ohm coils than your battery's continuous discharge rate can safely handle.

The two most important things to know when rebuilding coils is to know the amp limit of the battery you have (and/or in the case of a regulated mod, the amp limit of the processor chip) and to know the measured resistance of your coil. This is where Ohm's Law comes into play.
