I usually vape at 50-55 watts on a .3 ohm coil (aspire atlantis subtank)

Assuming you are using a regulated mod, it will be the processor chip's amp limit which will determine whether it will fire a 0.3 ohm coil. If the coil resistance is too low for the processor chip, it will give an error message that the atomizer resistance is "too Low". If you are not receiving this error, you're ok with with the Efan your using.

  • If using a high wattage regulated mod, use a 20 - 30 amp CDR IMR battery, which ever your mod's manufacturer recommends. The processor's amp limit determines the amp requirement in this application, not the atomizer resistance:
75W or higher, we recommend the Sony VTC4 2100 mah 30 amp CDR.

40W-75W = LG 18650HG2 3000mah 20Amp CDR
Samsung 18650-25R, 2500 mah 20 amp CDR (green wrap if you can, blue wrap is just fine)
LG 18650HE2 2500 mah 20 Amp CDR
Sony 18650VTC5 2600mAh 30Amp CDR (* tested as only a 20 amp CDR)
AW 18650 3000 mah 20 amp CDR
Under 40W = LG 18650HG2 3000mah 20Amp CDR
Samsung INR18650-30Q 3000mah 15Amp CDR
AW 18650 3000mah 20 Amp CDR

It's a different scenario when using a mechanical mod (with no processor chip), the resistance of the coil determines if the battery has enough amperage to fire the coil safely or not. You must figure this out yourself by using an Ohm's Law calculator.

using batteries below the max continuous discharge rating is totally safe. however, if your only using say 10A continuous with a 20A battery, you're not getting as much battery life as 10A battery would give you. with batteries it's always a trade off between MAH and Amps. More amps means less MAH, and less amps means more MAH :)
Well they work for me and they last me all day, haha. Is it bad for the cont. Discharge to be under 20A?@Vi-NG @Baditude

so ti is fine, on the safe range :thumb: however be skeptical on advertise info from cell brand '- they are 80% re-wrapping companies.. they take the non class A battery (discarded from LG, Sony, Samsung) and re-wrap it advertising them with higher specs :) the right battery is the one that has a good balance life span/MAX current discharge for the application you want to use. I personally with this in mind I select the battery only from LG or Samsung - I pay a premium but I am really big on safety :)

:) 18650 batteries have not been made for the use we do of them, they have being engineered for using them in packs for power tools.. Tesla is an example.. we start to use them in vaping for a varieties of reason however I got the feeling that safety is not the primary one :) however great mod the Sigelei - still too expensive for my vaping budget :)

I think as long as you arent stupid about it they can be perfectly safe being used the way they are for vaping.
I paid $90 for mine which I didn't think was too bad considering I've seen then as high as $150 in some shops.

Agreed partially :) we relay on a chip (so technology) and the internal battery safety protection.. if the chip fails, or the reading is not accurate (which should not be the case for your Sigelei with the YiHi) we are going to relay only to the battery internal protection.. I am just sharing what I know so we build a collective knowledge :)

Lots of great info here. I wound up purchasing two VCT5's for my wife's device (Sigelei 75w) she vapes at 35-50w with a .3 coil.
I on the other hand use the blue Samsung 25R's in a Sigelei 150w at 45-60w with .2 coil.
Haven't had any issues yet. I will pick up some VCT4's just to be on the safe side for higher watt vamping.
