Ok, as promised.

I have had a bottle of Backwoods Brew Honey Flue (not Honey Nut) sitting in my juice box for about a week. I popped the cap on a new bottle of Boba's Bounty last night and on first draw, I thought it tasted very similar to the Honey Flue. However, the Bounty went in a tank that I was already using with the Honey Flue so I suspected tank contamination, even though I replaced the coil head in the MT3S I was using.

So today, I went to my local B&M and bought two identical resistance Evod BCC's. Both BCC heads registered 1.9Ω on the store's multimeter and 1.9Ω on my own. The two coils I rebuilt measured 2.0Ω so I decided to use the store-bought coils.

Both the Backwoods Honey Flue and Boba's Bounty are 18mg/ml and both bottles are 30ml.

Both bottles were opened and allowed to breathe for exactly 60 minutes.

I added exactly 1.4ml of liquid to each of the new Evods, both of which had been hotwashed and air dried for one hour. The two tanks were allowed to sit for exactly 30 minutes to allow the new wicks to absorb the liquid.

I used a freshly charged 1100 mAh battery with variable voltage. It's a fasttech five-clicker, not a spinner or a twist. Mash the button five times to change voltage. I used the middle setting, which the multimeter says is 3.80v.

I tried the Honey Flue first. It's sweet, with a definite graham cracker and/or oatmeal raisin flavor that doesn't overpower the light, blonde tobacco flavor.

Waited about 20 minutes and took a few mouthfuls of my favorite palate cleanser, my own bitter Sierra Nevada Pale Ale clone that comes in at 5.8% ABV (no, you can't have the recipe).

Then came the Boba's Bounty.

Guess what? Sweet, graham crackery, and a light flavor of honey blonde tobacco.

I waited another 20 minutes or so and tried the Honey Flue again, after another few mouthfuls of my SNPA clone.

Mm hmm.

Another 20 minutes and finished the bottle of SNPA clone and tried Boba's again.

Mm hmm.

Another bottle of SNPA and another few times each with Honey Flue and Boba, each with about a 20 minute palate cleanse and rest.

In defense of AVE, the BWB Honey Flue has steeped for at least a week. The Boba's was opened last night. ECF conventions say that complex tobacco liquids need time to do their thing, but honestly, the Honey Flue tastes the same today as it did when I first opened the bottle.

There are some subtle differences between the two that I can't describe yet, but I can honestly say that Backwoods Brew's Honey Flue Tobacco flavor is almost a dead ringer for Boba's Bounty.

As the BB ages, I will update the thread.

Unfortunately, Backwoods' Honey Flue is extremely popular and sells out almost as rapidly as AVE closes their store. Now, I think I know why.

Interesting. For me, while I enjoy them both, they are not very similar. I would group BWB Honey Flue with Bees Knees from AVE before Boba's, though the honey in Bees Knees is much more prevelant. I'm not picking up any graham flavor from the Honey Flue, nor the rich "thickness" and full mouthfeel I find in Boba's.

That's great that you found two you like equally as well though. A case of "taste is subjective" for the two of us it appears. :)

I should have known this would happen.

Boba's has morphed on me. I don't taste the honey anymore at all, and now the two flavors are far apart. At first, I was underwhelmed by Boba's but it's growing on me.

Oh and, the ProTank was made for this stuff.
