These and the 1.5Ω versions, are what I use with a drip tip. Some prefer the warmer vape of the 306.

IMO, a true dripping atty has the coil directly below the drip tip (so you can drip a couple of drops on it) and no more wick than is necessary to fill the coil. Long wick tails and "bowls" below the coil allow the flavor to be cooked out of the juice before it gets to the coil. A dripping atty typically also allows a straight line air flow from the 510 connector, up around the coil, and through the drip tip… instead of from the side. YMMV

Tips…

Measure the resistance of each atty as soon as you get them. They only have a DOA warranty.

I clean them with pure grain alcohol (Everclear) but vodka will do. Some use isopropyl. Let 'em dry. I don't advise dry burning as a new user.

After cleanings, install on the mod and load with 4 drops on the coil. Make sure the atty is vertical so the drops hit the coil, not to the side of it.

If you flood it lightly, you can draw it out. More heavily, take it off the battery and blow it out in a tissue.

When the flavor starts to fade or taste dry, add two drops. If you go to where it tastes burnt, add three. Adjust the drips to suit you.

Start out at 3.2V for awhile and work up if you want.

If they start getting real hot, let them cool off a bit. DON'T chain vape them.

Clean them after every 2-3 hours of dark or thick juice vaping. I don't let it sit in them. If I'm not going to be using them for awhile, I may put a drop of unflavored juice on the coil.

This works for me.

^ This is a great post. Just - dead on. I learned all of this by playing with one, and just following what Nico said above will get you right where you want to be with a simple dripping atomizer. Without any trial and error.

I would only add that after an atty has been used, never clean it and then store it dry. Always prime it.

Good advice. Since I don't know what juice I'll use in it next time, I keep a 6 ml dropper bottle of unflavored next to my gear and use a drop of that. It comes in handy for lubing o-rings too.

edit to add… Pluid gets its own dedicated atty. :D

I'm also a newbee to dripping and am debating between a Helios, Patriot and a Igo-w. Any suggestions?

IGO-W is probably the easiest to set up and use, and they're cheap. I have one I use occasionally. Be warned that if you're using anything over 12mg of nicotine, these are probably not going to be enjoyable, I had to drop my flavors to 6mg to be able to vape my IGO-W, even with my build at around 2.0 ohms. 24mg on the IGO? WOW. I buzzed for a while after that.
